I also rented some dramas. I would rate Bryan Cranston's portrayal of Walter White as one of the best in TV history, but I can see why Jeff Daniels won last year for Newsroom- he's surprisingly great in a dramatic role. Also: 1. Carnivale- a bit bizarre, but good (I think this is early 2000s) 2. Boardwalk Empire- very good 3. The Walking Dead- great for a genre I'm not as into that much
I'll stick my neck out for Big Bang Theory and The Office. I believe Cryer and Holland Taylor are actually fairly good on Two and a Half Men, but the premise is distractingly trite. Other conventional stuff that I like would be The Exes and the supporting cast on Anger Management: Barry Corbin is a pretty good caricature and Noureen DeWulf is just hot.
Oh that show was so hilarious. I also remember this one they used to have called Not Necessarily The News, with Rich Hall and a couple of others I can't remember.
