I am not sure whether this has been posted or not but anyways... Inside Dish: Szczerbiak trade rumors lack substance By Sean Deveney - Sporting News "Don't expect much to come out of the SF Wally Szczerbiak trade rumors sure to be heard this summer -- a Szczerbiak-for-Cuttino Mobley trade popped up on the rumor mill last week. Szczerbiak signed a contract extension last season, and his raise from $3 million per year to the extension starting at $8 million per year kicks in next season. " This would be a TERRIBLE trade for Houston. The recent LA/Min series showed that Wally World still can't create his own shot and only has mediocre ball-handling skills at best. I don't think he would add any value to the Rockets. Cat is a bargain in comparison.
cuttino is better then szczerbiak. please, for the love of god, no. besides, I'm starting the like the idea of steve at the 2, should it be true.
A local Dallas station was reporting Cat was seen with Blu Cantrell. I'd trade Cuttino for her but not for Skeezerbiatch.
instead of WALLY WORLD, we should trade MOBLEY for HUDSON and a 1st rd. draft pick.....soundz good to me itzIce
yea having a guy who can't create his own shot, doesn't D up b/c he's slow, and is overpaid sounds great. he shoots better than cat but it isn't close to worth doing.
No thanks!!! Szczerbiak was horrible for the Wolves against the Lakers. He had so many bad passes, and arrant shots (worse than cat's). I looked like a more calm Madsen to me.
Same **** different smell... trading for another egotistical wannabe superstar is going to change nothing. NOBODY wants Wally, and in most cases Mobley. I tend to agree.
We need players that can nail the open outside shot while Francis creates for them. I think that Wally's game works better with Francis then Mobley's does. I would do it in a heartbeat if Wally would learn to D up better.
TRS - The problem comes from Wally making $3m more than Cat. There would have to be more players involved and I think the TWolves like Hudson and Peeler a whole lot more than they like Moochie! IMO, the Rox and Wolves aren't very good trade partners.
Szczerbiak games might compliment Yao and Steve's game more than Mobley. Agreed that Mobley can create his own shot but aren't we the one that complained Cat create his own shot too much? We need more of a spot up shooter who can nail those open shot rather than a dribble type of player who does not fit well playing against zone defense. The bad trade off here is Mobley is probably a better defensive player. It is a trade that I would at least consider if we want to change the style of play. Come to think of it if we can get someone like Wesley Person, it wouldn't be a bad addition to our ball club.
i actually agree with bball. he's a spot up shooter that will drive in if all else fails. the thought of wally world being on the rockets made me cringe but i think wally has what we need--a good spot up shooter that's not afraid to take it in. but at what cost??? too much if you ask me.
Didn't we have Glen Rice and Walt Williams? Cat is a better player than Wally. We don't need another 2. Our problem was at the foward spots. Peolpe complain about the people that are actually preforming the best(SF & CM), lets be real! NO PLAYER IS PERFECT, you have to take the good with the bad.
Walt Williams is a streaky shooter that is off more often then he is on and Rice is half the player he used to be. Wally Szczerbiak this year had a FG% of .481 and a 3P% of .421 which was a downgrade from last years .508 FG% and .455 3P%. Mobley's and Szczerbiak's stats are virtually identical with the exception that Wally blows Mobley away with his superior shooting % and Mobley ups Szczerbiak in the defensive department. I would say that both players are on par with each other but bring different strengths to the table. It's just a matter of deciding which players would fit your team's needs and philosophy better.
