Garcia went from specialist to being a bum on the Streets of Portland with an NBA player approaching.
I don't get the miss dunk phoney stuff. Casspi was in the air and the defender collided with him and stopped his momentum. Stuff happen it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Technically it was a foul but the refs chose a no call.
Yeah, one turnover per game. His assist to turnover ratio is better than any point guard currently on the team. Only Beverley comes close, and it's true that Beverley's was better last year. So sneer at Delfino for his turnover per game, then find somebody on this year's team with a better assist to turnover ratio. I've checked Lin, Brooks, Beverley, Hardin, Parsons, Casspi, Asik, and Garcia. I haven't found anybody yet and I don't think there is anybody. Maybe he did have point guard skills.
Casspi is not a true shooter, combo forward. Delfino is close being to being a pure shooter from the forward spot. He might not be able to rebound or rotate the way Casspi can and he is older.
Delfino was one of my fave players last year. Besides injuries, the guy had a motor ~ and just gave the Rockets more personality. Great player, wish he was on the roster.
Miss Delfino but we should have kept reggie williams imo. the dude can score in bunches, something that our bench needs BADLY right now.
“I just try to do my best every time I hit the court. I just want to help the Rockets.” -Carlos Delfino <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/Vnx6RXgJDgA?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/Vnx6RXgJDgA?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> This guy has heart, that what we miss on this team this year. 22 points 5 assists.
Guys, i dont get this thread. Because Casspi had a bad dunk following a foul means Casspi is not good? I think Casspi is one of the most Houston lovers, the guy has big heart for the team and players (i suggest you all guys will follow his twitter and read his words). I think Houston had the deal of the year singing Casspi for nothing and getting from him stats of 5-7 player. And most of all- I believe Casspi will be better towards the playoffs and within the playoffs. remark my words!
in case I was not clear here "I think Casspi is one of the most Houston lovers" I meant- among the 12 players currently play for Houston, Casspi really love the city and fans and play with big heart . It is known that few players around the NBA play for the money/contract/next seasons/etc... Not Casspi.
I rather having Casspi playing backup 4, than him going to Isreal joining the army to shoot Palastinian's children
Of course Delfino would be perfect for this team as a sixth man... He was streaky but when the team needed him, he was there. He kept the team within games (Milwaekee, Brooklyn ...). He was a shooter because when he was receiving the ball, he has never hesitated to shoot. Also as a 4(after the all star game) he fought hard against the other strong 4s in the league. Of course now he is injured and there is no question whatsoever. But Casspi will never become as good as Delfino was, i don't have a problem with that. As long as Casspi can be a good spot up shooter, I am happy. A lot of people here don't pay attention so much to the international competitions but Delfino was a big part of Argentina Golden Generation. Hi hlm... Not very interested in facts, are you?... Casspi scored 314 points for the Rockets so far in the regular season, of which 120 were from the perimeter - only 38%. Garcia, on the other hand, made 67% of his points from beyond the arc... (153 from 227) How is that the same? Omri's production patterns are actually much more similiar to Chandler's, (who's scored 29% of his points from long range... I wonder why people keep packaging Omri and Cisco together all the time. Their roles, game skills and current form all have really quite little in common. I'm beginning to suspect some CFs simply cannot tell them apart... Is it because both are white(ish), have some facial hair and come off the bench? Really?? Back to your point - 1. Why would you take a guy who slashes but can't shoot from 3 (You mentionedvhe can, but Marshon is 30% in his career.... Had 27% last year) over those who can do both? Especially since M.Brooks's production isn't higher than Casspi's, even per minute. 2. Why the heck do you feel that we miss the type of players who can both penetrate and shoot from long range? We have 3 very capable players of this type (Harden, CP, Lin) - 4 if you count Casspi. (And you should...)
OK, I checked it. Their production per 36 minutes (Casspi this year vs Delfino last year) is almost identical. They make 14.7 (C) and 15.1 (D) points, They shoot 36.7% (C) and 37.5% (D) from the 3, They shoot overall 44% (C) and 40% (D), They assist the same (2.9 & 2.7), steal the same (1.6 & 1.5), block the same (0.6 & 0.5), Casspi rebounds slightly more (6.6 vs 4.7), Delfino shoots FT better (85% vs 70%). In short - only the playoffs will tell.
I'm tired of these casspi or montiejunas, casspi or garcia, and casspi or defino type of threads. It's phoney conflict. He's improved a lot after 40 games. The missed dunk is stupid. He wasn't going for the posterization he was blindsided and probably should of had the call.
