League pass is the greediest sports premium package I know of. Nearly half the season is over and yet they still haven't reduced their price.

Do they think we are idiots? Probably with 10 games left they will trying to sale their crappy service half-price.

    It's like a monopoly. It's bull****.

Plenty of suck...umm, people must be signing up for the service if prices and formats aren't changing. I almost gave in this year, but instead just have gone completely without, save for the occasional national Rockets game. Going to the game on Thursday.

League Pass can eat DD's dick (won't let them near mine).:eek:

Congress gives them an exemption to anti trust laws because it's a monopoly... That's also why the sports leagues have to answer to them when **** gets real public.

Meanwhile - people who don't live in the US think it's one of the greatest things ever.

I'd hazard a guess and say a lot of these people would actually pay more if they charged more for their service.

The NBA owns the broadcast rights. They pay players, coaches, staff a lot of money to put on these games. Why would they let somebody else use these games to build a competing service to one of their revenue sources?

If it makes sense to lower (or raise) the price, the NBA would do it. I trust that their analysis of available data shows that the current price points more or less optimizes revenue.

NBA fans really shouldn't complain... at least League Pass is available across many providers. NFL Sunday Ticket is ONLY available thru DirectTV.

(and it's $200 for an entire season brah... a few less drinks here and there, a few less meals at restaurants, and you're there)

It's not "like a monopoly", it is a monopoly. And businesses love having monopolies. It's a heck of a lot easier to make money when you don't have competition.

So, the answer is probably never.

It is not a monopoly, it is a company or an entertainment product. It's competitors are the NFL, MLB, NHL, MLS etc.

It is kind of like going to see a movie. Say I went to see Avatar in 3D. It is a bit pricey compared to its competitors. It costs $15, but if I don't like it, I can always go see a different movie.

I have purchased league pass every year since I moved to San Antonio in 2001. I will purchase it again next year. That's the cost of watching my Rockets play in real time HD without being beholden to internet connection speed or 5 million other people clogging up bandwidth.
