Durant's shooting ability can be matched by maybe 5 players in NBA history(Curry, Dirk, Miller, Allen, Petrovic), Giannis can't score outside of restricted area(not even paint) right now. Rookie Rubio was better scorer than him. His ceiling is probably some kind of Kirilenko/Odom/Marion mix and floor someone like MKG/LRMAM.
I really hate to break it to u but defense is HALF of the game of basketball, and paul george is without a doubt the in the very small group of couple players that are behind lebron and kd. If u are saying George is not on kd level then NOBODY but lebron is then because George is in the elite class of basketball players in this league.
inconsistent. He'll airball a three, then swish the next one. Came in with a low release point, and he's gotten it higher, but I imagine the change in motion damaged his accuracy. Still uses the old motion on mid-range a lot, shoots it from his chest. 3P% from the year is .282, which is obviously bad, but can be considered a solid start for the youngest player in the league, FT% is 73%. Not a good shooter yet, but I'll bet on him getting there. Durant just described him as, "Probably the most skilled player on his team," so that's some high praise for a 19 year old drafted as a project.
I wonder at what point, if at all, the team decides to make him a 4/5, if he keeps growing and can't get his perimeter shot down. Of course, he'll need to add a lot of weight.
So, so impressive. He literally has the tools and skills to do everything on a basketball court. Everything. And he's already somewhat proficient in some of those things. This game has a wide variety of the many things he can do on a basketball court. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/HebAuHQRB4Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
everyone knew his size.. everyone knew his speed, they knew hes only 19.. did they forget he has handles and defensive instincts? and decent mechanics on his jumper? how does this guy not go at least top 3 in every draft.. almost in the history of the nba? what were some question red flags about him?
Looks like Giannis has a brother who is in the D-League and will enter the NBA Draft. Thanasis Antetokounmpo - who withdrew from the 2013 NBA draft. He's 6'7, and 21 years old - compared to his younger bro Giannis, who is 19, 6'10, and still growing.
Larry Drew is an idiot (or maybe a genius, if it's part of his tanking strategy)... Giannis is SUPER productive when they let him play 2 guard, but they so frequently start him at SF in Khris Middleton's place. Giannis clearly >> Khris, but it puts such a cap on his potential.
Imagining a core of Giannis, Henson and Embiid could be pretty scary in a few years - this guy is gonna be a stud pretty rapidly.
NBA Canada reporter Payal Doshi showed off her hand compared to The Greek Freak's on her Instagram and she barely extends past his palms.
