I am looking beyond the numbers.

I have more confidence in Goran's ball handling abilities, his ability to handle the pressure, and his outside shooting. He is consistent and just a better decision maker.

Conversely I am not confident in Lin's ball handling abilities and he gets rattled when put under pressure. We saw that in limited minutes against OKC. IMO, in the playoffs teams will do what Miami does and just hound him. And that just makes me nervous.

Shooting you can work on, and to his credit, I think Lin has improved. But the other things, I think, are more based on instinct and I am not sure you can learn that.

I think so too. I really hate the weird affinity I have for Phoenix overall. I already miss watching that Gogi/Bledsoe backcourt.

i think having a coach who gives him a longer leash to make mistakes would help his game a lot. he's clearly a much better player when more confident and aggressive, pushing the envelope, instead of worrying about getting yanked to the bench.

would still prefer dragic though, and like a lot of us was disappointed when he signed with phoenix. he really is the perfect PG fit for this team. especially with bev complimenting him as a backup and together at times in the backcourt.

I think the issue would be 2015 free agency. If Houston is still planning on maybe chasing 2015 free agents, his player option may be an issue even in a February 2015 trade. Even if Goran is playing well enough at the time to make picking up the option an illogical choice, something bad can still happen that would make him choose otherwise by July: a big injury for one thing, or a bad playoff series. If Morey is still chasing Kevin Love in summer 2015
by then, do you even take this chance?

Also, not sure if they will trade him right now. They need to see how Bledsoe's knee responds first. And after that I don't know if they are even looking to add extra picks since they have multiple 1st rounders from other teams already.

i actually have less confidence in his shooting than his ability to handle pressure :D

it seems a lot of his turnovers are just due to poor team spacing and him driving into a crowd with nowhere to go, often giving up his dribble like a moron…..this can be fixed. his shooting….i'm not so sure..

In one of the NYK's videos, Jeremy specifically credited Dragic, during Lin's brief stay as a Rocket, as an influence on his aggressive mindset during Linsanity.

He also compared himself to Dragic before he was [not] drafted:

If you include the Knicks season, this is the third season where he hasnt shown improvement in those areas so I am very much beginning to doubt that it can be fixed.

He is just not a nature ball-handler, which is why putting pressure on him is usually very successful for the opponents.

he has dropped his TO's by about 1/3 (per 36min) from the knicks season, albeit probably with less usage here. but i just see so many of his ballhandling mistakes being of the braindead variety, and thinking they could be so easily fixed. he'll never be cassell with the ball under pressure, but he does have good speed and decent enough handles to learn how to protect the ball adequately. i'm really more concerned about how his inconsistent slow release shot would fare in the playoffs..

His TOV% is 19.6 during linsanity it was 21.4%. He really hasn't gotten better at that aspect of his game, but luckily he isn't asked to handle the ball too much with the rockets since harden and parsons can handle the ball.

admittedly, i'm not so conversant with nba advanced stats….what is TOV%?

i had just taken his TO's/min over the entire knick season vs the same for this season here.

of course this entire team has become very turnover prone, which i think is in part of product of having very few set plays called and the players needing to manufacture open looks out of thin air over the course of each game. we've seen harden and brooks cough up the ball at the end games recently, not because they're poor ballhandlers under pressure, but imo due to opposing teams taking advantage of our poor spacing, adjusting to players' tendencies, etc.

DO people watch any of these Suns games or just look at stats? His numbers without Bledsoe are nothing stellar. With Bledsoe gone his stats are on the rise, but look at the record, the team is not winning nearly as often.

PLus look at the defense. For example, people see the Memphis game box score, 21 pts, 8 assists, 60% shooting, wow what a performance! but ohh wait they lose cause Mike Conley goes for 31/7.

Then last night vs the Knicks, 28-8-4, wow, so great, except raymond felton who average 10 ppg, goes for 18 and they lose again.

With Bledsoe, 16-8....without Bledsoe they also have 8 losses, but just 5 wins.

Neither. Was actually quite nervous when he was dribbling the clock out against the wizards before ariza went full polamalu on him.. handle just doesn't seem to be tight enough. Obviously can be improved but you kno

It's not a surprise. Dragic's not a franchise guy, no.1 option. That said, he'd help improve this Rockets team. Houston lack a starting PG and PF on the roster.

Essentially, Harden is the starting PG.

Houston Backcourt is the 3rd best in the league. (after LAC and SAS)

28-8-4 is great? He shooted 9/22.
    That's why they lost.

OKC keeps losing without Westbrook, yet stats show they are better with Reggie Jackson...
