I don't know anything about Ant Man, but Rudd could work like that kid worked in Kickass. Levitt being prominent in both DC and Marvel universes would be weird, but since Affleck's batman who cares anymore.
I feel like Rudd would pull off the intellectual part a bit better. I think JGL is a better actor period. I would be okay either way I suppose.
Can they make Ant-Man funny to the point where it reaches RDJ - Iron Man funny? Rudd can pull off comedy pretty well.
I heard this was going to be a heist film, I know Ant-Man is a lesser known character, but I trust Marvel and look forward to Rudd and Wright making a good movie.
Michael Douglas is Ant-Man............ http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/181131-michael-douglas-cast-as-ant-man
Yes and then he passes the reign to Paul Rudd, who'll be playing Scott Lang. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2014/01/13/michael-douglas-ant-man-movie/4458771/
I know nothing about Ant-Man, I don't read comic books, but I have seen almost all comic book movies, and I like the movies for the most part. That said, I can tell we are reaching into B-level comic characters with Ant-man! But who cares? I'm still gonna watch it because this looks like it might be hilariously bad but good at the same time.
He isn't B-level at all...he's very popular. He's just not someone a casual fan may be familiar with, if you know the comic Avengers or even the Earth's Mightiest Hereoes cartoon you'd know him. He isn't one of my favorite characters personally, but a lot of people like him. (I didn't even particularly like Thor or Iron Man until recently. I've always been a X-men guy.)
All of the Marvel films produced solely by Marvel Studios have done pretty good in box offices. Daredevil was produced by Fox. I'm sure they are not too worried. I'm excited to see this happen.
Pretty sure Douglas is going to be retired, and Ruud is going to steal the suit and technology to rob some banks for his daughter. I hope it's similar to oceans 11 with super powers.
I was never a huge Avengers guy growing up. I was more SpiderMan, X-Men, and DC Comics when I was a kid. And since Marvel sold off the rights to SpiderMan, X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and a few others, they have taken the lemons left to them and made some serious lemonade with Iron Man, Thor and the Avengers. And they pulled it off. Problem is, I really did not have the history with ANY of those characters or groups. And since clearly Marvel is throwing all their cards into the ring with the rights to the characters and groups they still DO own (Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man + Avengers we haven't really seen yet like Wasp, etc), it was a good idea to head to Wiki and start following links. I started with Ultron and backtracked. Not going to bother saying much here - go to Wiki and read if you want to know - but Pym is a major major character, and Whedon's decision to leave him out of Avengers was probably more to do with the revising of the origins of the group more than anything else. But now that that universe is expanding and branching out, the time is as good as any to start filling in these areas. This also leads me to wonder just exactly how Ultron comes into being in Avengers 2 - originally Ultron was a creation of Pym's, and with him being an actual character in that movie universe now, there may still be some ties to him. Or not. But don't sleep on that particular character, especially with the quality of the actors they are getting for the roles.
I think Whedon said we've already been introduced to Ultron's creator, or possibly even Ultron, I think the assumption is that it's Tony Stark's automated voice thingy, I forget the name. His digital version of Alfred basically.
