The Rockets are one of the WORST 3-point shooting teams in the league. They need shooters bad.

The only two shooters I have confidence in is AB and Harden. Everyone else has been hot garbage. No Del3no, no Mook or even PPat whose 3 shot is better than Jones have hurt this team. Instead, we got a 7ft euro who thinks he's a long range sniper, a washed up vet that spent his entire career on a loser team, and and a dude whose shot was kosher only during preseason.

No, they really don't have shooters.

They have a collection of several career 35% 3pt shooters.

The best is Parsons at 37.1%. Then Brooks is at 36.8%. Then Harden at 36.3.

Then everybody else (Casspi, Bev, Lin, Garcia, Jones, etc.) are all 35% or less.

Those are just average numbers that you can find on any team in the league. If your team relies heavily on the 3 point shot, it might be a good idea to have a roster with players who are good shooters from 3.

Can we stop with this broken record bull****. Its not the coach when players aren't hitting open shots.

The coach is getting traditionally decent shooters good shots, they just aren't hitting them.

That's why McHale is (rightfully) interested in acquiring Mike Dunleavy Jr.

It's because you're posting on a basketball fan forum. Emphasis on "fan". Many here haven't played a game of organized basketball, coached, or studied the game a day in their lives. You bring up a fantastic point--a point often overlooked.

What did we expect? Morey patched up the team with who was willing to come here for a cheap and flexible contract. There's no way he didn't know he got B and C grade shooters and would need to upgrade them eventually.

I'm not sure why the best shooter is stuck on the bench though, especially with all these injuries. Light the Canaan up and throw him out there. He can't do much worse than AB, Brewer and some of these guys have done. Our guys can't shoot OR throw an entry pass, which are probably the most important skills you need when playing with Dwight. Throw the rook out there and see what he's got.

Sadly that's also true, it just so happens when Howard gets the pass intercepted once, we stop passing for the rest of the game. Then it's harden iso from then on. It's not good to have one guy score 30+ points all the time and everyone else struggle to crack 15.

I got to believe one of the major reasons for the drop in the 3 point field goal percentage is because of the poor ball movement.

It seems that most of our threes are being contested or forced. Where before we used to do a good job in moving the ball around and finding the wide open shooter.

Overall the ball movement has been atrocious and therefore the offense feels stagnant. Maybe it's because they are trying to incorporate a low post game more or maybe it's a mentality they are not taking into games. Either way, that needs to improve cause we have all seen the potential of our offense when the ball is constantly moving.

Someone look up the stats , but I feel like we neglected the corner 3 this season. Delfino and Pattersonwere crack shots at it last year. This year it's like we take contested 3s from the arc.

it is not that bad to be one of the worst 3pt pct team. The worst part is Rockets is one of the teams taking most 3pt shots.

Surprise: Casspi is 52% from the corner 3 THIS YEAR!!
He is just not getting the chance to shoot those often enough.

I say plug him in the starting lineup if Parson's not playing. Maybe that'll help our offense get rolling.

Not that we could acquire him but Kyle Korver would kill it on this team...

Poor ball movement is because we have a guy playing from the perimeter who can't shoot and he clogs the floor with his dribble drives. We've got 3 guys now in the starting lineup who prefer to drive the ball...Harden, Lin, and Jones. And Jones prefers to dribble drive because he knows he can't shoot for ....

If you want ball movement you've got to have 4 guys that can shoot from distance surrounding one pivot. Garcia and Parsons or Parsons and Casspi should be starting at the 3/4 spots.
