Anyone know of a good custom suit tailor? Planning to invest in a custom suit this year for work and seeing if anyone has any recommendations.

Moving to Houston after sometime away in Australia. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Indochino.com is supposed to have great tailored suits at decent pricing. It's not in Houston though.

I usually get a suit from wherever, and get it tailored at Marcello's Alterations at the Galleria. Good professional tailoring

Nick Lopez and Norton Ditto have always been my go-to places in Houston.

Vo Alterations in Pearland is a good hole-in-the-wall place for alterations. Never had a problem with my suit.

This. Sam's tailor in Hong Kong or if you are willing to go to Vietnam there are great tailors in Hoi An I can recommend. These are the best places I have gotten my custom clothing from.

As far as locally in Houston, Bacharach in the galleria starts off at $500 I believe and they do good work for price.

    Hope that helps

wearing a suit in houston in the dog days of summer takes mental toughness. props to all the bros who do it. sometimes i feel like lightweight fabric still isn't enough.

Sam's is no longer the cheap bargain that it used to be -- due to his popularity, Hong Kong getting very expensive, and the area of Kowloon that he's in has just exploded. With these Asian tailors you have to be explicit on the quality of fabric that you want and the quality of the linings. Anyone can assemble a suit and customize the measurements to your body -- that's a commodity. So you're basically looking for quality of fabric and low cost labor. With quality materials, you're still looking at a $500 suit even in Vietnam or Thailand. In the US, for a quality bespoke suit, you're looking at minimum $1000 (low end).

There are also online places that can make a custom suit if you give them your measurements -- this is a growing field.

I got a secret for you. Robert Horry and all his NBA friends buy their custom tailored suits at The Village Clothier on Rice Blvd in the village. Even when he played in LA, he'd arrange all his new suits here vs LA stores. Newbie NBA stars probably like the glamour of the Galleria area, but this little place knows how to treat you special.

Ignore the stupid name. Try it out.
