Please don't bring the race issue into discussion. If you bring race in, then any non-black is voted in because of his ethnicity, which included Griffin, Lopez, Love, Robio, Dirk, Lee, Asik, Gasol and Parson.
1. voters are color-blind 2. Lin would be playing like an All-Star if McHale didn't hate him. Therefore it is poetic justice that he start 3. We (especially Tinman) are all Rocket fans because of Lin 4. Monta Ellis is an MVP candidate 5. Tyson Chandler is a wonder of a human being
because that's what all-nba teams are for at the end of the season, selected by the media. all-star weekend is a little break in the middle of the season, a little excuse for a party and bunch of exhibition games, nothing more. if identifying and recognizing the best players in each position for the season, it makes more sense to do it at the end of the season when you've seen the whole body of work, and voted by folks in media since your general public doesn't really know much about players outside of their teams, except for players they see on billboards and commercials.
Actually yes, I think Dan Majerle and one other player I forget who started in the ASG being a 6th man.
It doesn't matter how many votes Lin gets. He's going to turn it down, which will be an embarrasing situation to say the least.
couldn't have said it better myself. nice job. if i were a player, the all-nba team at the end of the season is the selection that i really want.
I'd rather him be a reserve, less wear and tear. To answer your first question, did Manu or Jamal Crawford ever make the ASG when they were playing as 6th men? Definitely agree with that. ASG is such a massive, unentertaining waste of time. No one takes it seriously anymore, and the dunk contest sucks. They should completely revamp it.
The point is if Lin gets a chance, then he should take it. This isn't about who's objectively the best. It's about who people want to see.
Don't delude yourself. He knows how low on the totem pole he is compared to those other guys. It pretty much turns him into a laughing stock, and a humble person like him would never accept something he doesn't have the merit for. On the other hand, he can't really tell his fans to stop voting for him either... This is completely different from when Yao used to get voted in. Yao was the #1 center in league for years so he deserved it easily.
When they used to have each person on the team wearing their own uniform it was way more badass. Special jerseys, so the NBA will obviously try to make revenue from anywhere it can. 2002 Was amazing. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/beRCM3alAD8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
If Yao was under McHale instead of Tomjanovich, where do you think he will be? Yeap, if you think of DMo, you are absolutely correct. Yao was has the worst start than Lin as a Rocket, but Tomjanovich see the potential and developed Yao. If Yao under McHale, he just another bench warmer and will have the same career as Yi in the NBA.
so between melo, george and lbj, who will lebron guard? I dont like the small forward being considered in frontcourt portion since they all play like guards anyway.. it should be top 3 between 1-3 and then top 2 between 4s and 5s
I don't know that anyone has answered this definitively, but Alex Kennedy tweeted this: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>If Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul are out, the league would likely choose their replacements, rather than going to fourth-place Jeremy Lin.</p>— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/AlexKennedyNBA/statuses/421366433625292800">January 9, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
