I thought I saw where tickets would be around $200 round trip between Houston and Dallas. I guess if you want to pay that every day to commute, you could...

I am somehow relating weed and bullet trains together ...

I'm seeing this public transport no-car advocacy issue kinda like the "Get Girlfriend to Smoke Weed With Me" matter http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=249237

Too insecure with weed dependency so needing others to join in for validation.

Too insecure and uncomfortable to drive vehicle, so wanting everyone else to be involved

Just get behind the wheel of a car and steer it, its okay its not so debilitating a thing

Damn. That's not cheap at all.

Do you have a link for that?

I just drove a Lincoln Navigator to Dallas and back couple of weeks ago, and it costed me 150 dollars in gas. Not to mention, I wasn't the only one in the car....

pretty sure the train's main draw is time, not money-saving. If you wanna get to Dallas in less than 2 hours, it would obviously cost more than driving your car. With that in mind, I'd say $100 each way is fair (although I'd love to pay less_

I knew they'd be expensive, but not that expensive. If employers are unwilling to pay for it and some sort of subscription option isn't available then yeah, no dice. But even $10,000/year isn't terrible to have the luxury of living where you wanted and working where you wanted. Imagine am IT consulting firm based out of Austin that could ship its guys out across Texas and bring them back home the same day if they wanted to improve moral (as opposed to keeping them in a hotel). $200/day though, cant really work that into a bill rate and come out on top. Or can you?
