Random Houston Rockets Trade Ideas - 2013-14

Trade Asik & Lin to Boston for Humphries & Bradley

 

So I have two trades that I kinda like:
Trade 1:
Rockets get: Aminu
Pelicans get: D-Mo and Brewer

Trade 2:
Rockets get: Hawes and the NO (top 5 protected) First Round Pick
Philly gets: Asik

 

I'd rather have Jabaar.

 

New York went the max for Anthony, and it was a legitimate attempt. There is no way in hell anybody with brains signs Carmelo Anthony to another maximum deal.

 

Lakers get Asik and beverly

Rockets get kaman, young, hill.

Get hill for salary matching purposes.

harden/young/brooks
parsons/young/garcia
jones/hill/smith
howard/kaman/hill

gives us a potential 6th man in young and brings in 2 good front court backups…plus gets rid of crapsspi and smith from the rotation.

 

Of course someone will.

 

Its simple, really. Sign Andrew Bynum as your backup Center. If he doesn't pan out, you've got G Smith. Then, we trade J Lin and Asik for Deron Williams. He'll be a giant upgrade at the PG spot that we need, and if his ankle is acting up, we will have the rotation of Bev/Brooks/Canaan to go back on. Brooklyn needs both Lin and Asik anyways. Then, we trade Brewer and D-Mo for Mike Dunleavy.

I took a nap today and had a dream that we traded Asik and beverley in a package for some player. I have no idea who it was and I personally don't want to trade beverley but for morey to package both in one deal it would probably mean we got close to a star player. This probably has 0 credibility but perhaps I had a premonition......

 

Do you guys think that Lin and asik could still go to bulls?

 

I think it can be argued that the Rockets had no brains for giving a max contract to a bench player not knowing how he would do in a lead role. Especially when they tried that with Anderson from Utah. Melo will definitely get a max deal.

 

canwe get a deal done somtime this year. I would target SacTown get one of the players that they are offering for Miller. Lets just do somthing already.

 

I think this puts the Rockets in a good position for the Kevin Love sweepstakes this off-season/next season. Love will want out and the T-Wolves will be forced to either trade him before 2015 free agency or lose him for nothing in unrestricted FA.

To trade for Love the Rockets will need a sought after PF themselves.



Dragic will most definitely opt out of his last year. Regardless his contract will be easy to trade. At worst the Rockets get a couple of second rounders for Dragic to tack onto their trade package for Love. Then again, the T-Wolves might even want him.

 

JR Smith being shopped by Knicks. Would you do a JR Smith and Felton for Lin? Both players have reasonable contracts.

We might not want him nor need him, but Melo is a max player.

 

Word. If O'Haren is a max player, there's no reason Carmela isn't on.

Shandon Anderson? He was a role player that the Rockets signed to a 2 year $4.2M Contract. Barely $2M/year isn't really too much of a risk.

Agreed that Melo will get a max contract.
