He would be a great addition for us, no matter how annoying he is.

Don't see any reason the Rockets would trade for Noah. He wouldn't be a big improvement over Asik at the backup center spot, but would cost us way more and would probably cost us Lin or some picks. Noah and Asik are basically two defensive bigs who can't stretch the floor, meaning no twin towers.

^ This could make sense. You'd definitely have to take Phoenix seriously if they could get a legitimate defensive anchor that could also take some pressure off the guards offensively.

I call BS. Noah is one of the best centers in the league, there is no way they will trade him. They can still tank by keeping Noah. Noah wont prevent them from tanking. The Bulls have a chance of starting next season with this lineup :

    Rose
    Butler
    Melo
    Nikola Mirotic
    Noah

PLUS their lottery pick coming off the bench. The Bulls are in good shape - they will not trade Noah.

There will be a pretty good amount of demand for Noah. I could see Chicago asking a size able amount back. Bulls have to be careful of not just dumping everybody and leaving Rose with nothing "when healthy".

What's funny is if Melo left NY for that team you posted he would essentially be joining what he's leaving because let's be real, Rose will not be the same player he once was and will probably get injured again. That leaves them with some random point much like NY now.

PG - Random (Assuming Rose goes down again)
SG - Butler (Shumpert) - A very athletic wing with good defensive skills and can hit the 3 well.
    SF - Melo
PF - Nikola Mirotic (Bargnani) - A big with very good range and touch but not a good defender. Albeit a better rebounder than Bargs.
C - Noah (Chandler) - Defensive center with good offensive rebounding and put back skills.

Chicago might be better than NY because of Thibs and the possibility of bringing in some good players because of cap space but I still don't see that team beating Indy or Miami.

Isn't the point to clear cap space? Trading for Asik wouldn't help CHI at all.

Noah has a contract that runs through 2016 at 11.1 mil, 12.2 mil and 13.4 mil. Asik's cap hit is 8.3 mil, 8.3 mil and 0 so actually there is pretty good cap relief (3 million this season and 4 million next season) with out giving up much if anything talent wise.

I suppose. But they don't even need Melo. Heck, they may not even go after him in the off season. If they get a good enough pick, they might have a chance at someone like Exum, Randle, or perhaps even Parker.

Bulls would be mental to trade Noah. They'll be able to get themselves in position to offer the max this off season by trading some small 2 years for expirings, and then amnestying boozer. They can shut it down and tank out the year while keeping noah.

Right, but that's still the rest of this year plus the next. Unless they want to give Rose another season to see if they can do something, there's got to be better options now, than later.

The Rockets would be crazy if they make the trade to get Noah just to play backup. You either start him with Dwight or you don't get him at all. A 12 mil a year backup is the dumbest idea ever.

Boston would be a good fit for noah with a healthy rondo+green...

They probably are only thinking they would trade him if, say, Milwaukee wanted to give up its first round pick for him. They probably are just looking at the 2014 lottery.

This sucks because as Clutch eluded to, it makes trading Asik that much more difficult with a higher & better supply of starting centers available. Not to mention, if the Knicks season goes in the tank & they start looking at traded Melo… Chandler could become available as well.

Just a terrible, terrible year to try and trade a whiny, injured defense only center like Asik.

No way Knicks are tanking when Denver owns their first round draft pick.

Edit: Rockets fans better hope Bulls don't trade Noah to Thunder. Noah, Westbrook, Ibaka, and Durant will dominate in the league for the foreseeable future.
