Andre Miller's stock dropped tremendously last year but he is still young so the potential to get back to 02' form is there without a question. Inconsistentsey last year, 4 points/5 turnovergames to droppin close to 40pt/20ast on J. Kidd, wasn't a problem in cleveland where he had a offensive center, Iglausklis (bad spelling), that caused match-up problems inside. He was expecting a max contract at the begging of the season but now he will receive 6 year/ 48 million at the highest. We don't have any money but Cuttino is a real bargain at 6 year/30 million, Sterling's cheap ass would love that. Andre dropped in every stat last year, and Cuttino averaged 6 more points than him. Maybe Cuttino Mobely, Bostjan Nachbar and future conditional 1st rounder for Andre Miller (sign and trade) and Clippers first this year (mid to late lottery). This would have to be arranged before the draft. We can draft Anderson Varejos (Brazil), Hakim Warrick (Syracuse) or somebody to ideal to the system to replace nachbar as future SF. Miller doesn't seem to egoistic and would problably be intruiged to play with Yao and Francis. (since he is a passer) Miller still got game. Eventhough his nonchalant style isn't highlight reel material its still silky smooth. He is magnetized to the floor but seem to always attack each hole with enough explosiveness to finish or dish it off to the right man. I think he would perfect fit and would give the coaches areason to scrap the isolation system. Cuttino's one of my favorites but its time change, what ya'll think. Slick
NO WAY!!!!!!! This gives us the worst backcourt D in the nba. Plus Miller can't shoot, isn't that one of our problems.
it would be one of the best offencive back-courts in the league, and one of the worst defencive. how 'bout, cat for crawford?
IMO, now that Stocton is gone the Jazz will make a substantial bid for Miller (who played collegiately in Utah). The Clipps can't or won't match. If Malone leaves (or re-sings for a reasonable amount below his current $19.3m), it will make Miller that much easier to obtain. Miller is the kind of system player who will thrive in Utah. Forget about trading for 'Dre.
Griffin+Rice for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, then Mobley+filler for Miller. I don't realy want Miller, but he still is one of the best pure point guards in the league. PG-Miller SG-Franics SF-Nachbar PF-Abdur-Rahim C-Yao 6th-Taylor Not bad, but I would take Brand over Miller or Shareef Abdur-Rahim. What about Jamal Mashburn? I know he has had injury problems, but aren't we going after Vets? What would it take to get him?
LilMan, I like your idea, but I don't think we would have to give up Boki and the 1st to get him. Cuttino should be enough for the Clips, especially when faced with losing him outright to Utah. Also, Maggette may go to Denver, so the Clips will need a replacement at the 2. Miller should be happy to take a deal that is 15% higher than Cuttino's salary, without us having to throw in more salary to get him more money (to make the deal work under the cap). Yes, our backcourt would suck defensively, but it would still make us a better team than the Francis/Mobley backcourt, given that Mobley won't throw the ball to Yao. If we re-sign Posey, maybe his D combined with Yao/Cato in the middle will make us a good enough defensive team. Defensively, our guards could funnel the other team's guards into Yao/Cato, to help out some. Or we can run the zone more. This team needs help on offense more than on defense.
I agree with you once again. I want him. Defense can be improved during the season. Zone defense......Yao Ming and Eddie Griffin. Cuttino for Crawford? I'm not sure if you watch him that often....but he's not that great. He beat Steve one-on-one...but he doesn't play any good defense either. I would do Cuttino for Brent Barry though. Or Cuttino for Odom. Cuttino and MAYBE a 2nd round pick for Andre Miller would be nice.
Im just going to say this because...........I can! Rudy and Les ALREADY said that when it comes to Yao, Steve, and CUTTINO MOBLEY they are UNTOUCHABLE meaning theres a VERY VERY little itty bitty chance if any at all that Cat will be traded. To me dont excpect a very great off season trade but I do have to say that there will be a change in the front court! Right now I have to say bye to my love Eddie because I dont see the Rox givin him another chance! and if he isnt gone this season I consider him lucky and if he doesnt improve dramatically next season he will be gone!!! ( leave me alone my heart is hurting right now!) LOL!
Last yr when Miller led the league in asst, he didn't have the services of big z. That yr he had some jump shooters and a offense that was made for him. In La, he had to deal with guys in contract yrs and 2 other players (Jaric and Odom) who also handle the ball. If you think Utah isn't going to offer him somewhere close to the max, then you haven't been reading. Expect Miller and Brand about 9 mill per. Both players will get at least what Raef got which was 70mill.
This is the worst defensive team in the league, maybe ever. Yao has trouble with 1-on-1 defense and everyone else in that lineup is useless.
I'm not sure about Miller... He sure did look good with the Cav's... I still think Miller would not be a bad addition if the price is right but I would rather pay more to get Payton. I still want Brand if Sterling is willing to sign and trade... Brand would without a doubt is one of the missing pieces for this team. He brings rebounding and intensity. Yao/Brand combo would be hard to stop simply because both players do require double-teaming. I think Randolph, on the blazers, will become like Brand in a few years. This team desperately needs Brand!!!
