No. McHale is actually proving this wrong. First Parsons, and now Jones. DMo got beat out by a fellow 2nd yr, and 2yrs younger, Terrence Jones. Plus, Greg Smith is younger than DMo, too. I don't want to trade him, but you can't say McHale doesn't development young players when he coached a rookie Parsons and Terrence Jones beat out DMo. Plus, he gave PPatt a starting job, and gave Morris he opportunity.
I'm gonna be mad if we trade DMO for a second round pick. He has first round talent in a league needy of 7-footers.
He's just not that good. He tries to play like a guard, but he isn't good enough dribbling and shooting to play on the perimeter. And because that is his style of play, his big-man skills are lacking and he gets beat up inside. He has no position. He's not good enough to be a Dirk-type perimeter player, but he's not good enough to play inside and defend and fight for rebounds. He's just not that good, even if he is 7 feet tall. He doesn't use his height to his advantage.
Ok this might be a little crazy but how bout this: Asik/DMo to Brooklyn for KG Lopez is out for the year now so they need a center (they're only one game out of the playoffs....sad but true). KG waives his no trade to get reunited with McHale and play on a better team. He's already stated how out of rhythm he is in Brooklyn. I think KG would give us the veteran leadership and toughness we're lacking. I think he'd yell at guys if they don't play defense. Plus he could man the backup C minutes. His contract expires in two years, meaning we could still make a run at Love/Aldridge.
Brooklyn cannot take on another contract, they are at their limit. It would need to be more contracts going out than coming in
Maybe just Asik then? He's had a bad year, but I think that's more to do with the Nets ineptitude and being surrounded by ballhogs. His PER was 19.2 just last season.
Nice gesture on the part of the Rockets. An athlete has only so many prime years. If you love him, let him know; if you don't, then let him go. D-Mo seems like a great guy with great work ethics, and lots of potential. Hopefully they're find a good home for him, and for Asik and Jeremy as well.
I like the idea of Garnett here as the primary big off the bench. My concern is his personality and how it would clash with our main guys. As well, NJ would need to give us another asset IMO.
There are two ways to develop your draft picks. Keep them and have your coach develop them -- Parsons and Terrence Jones Develop them as assets and upgrade via trade -- dozens of assets that eventually led to Harden It's unfair to Morey to say we don't have any homegrown players on the team when his primary focus has been to draft solid, develop assets and trade them away until he lands a superstar.
Such a shame. The kid won us a game, then played poorly the next game and went straight back into the dog house.
D-Mo for Marshon Brooks and a #2. He's a good scorer, he creates for others and he can give us 15 mins off the bench. That's about the most we will get without giving up assets
Dmo is a pf that we force to play center. When he has played next to a true center he has done well. He's not a center. Not a great of right now either, but he'd be more effective at pf next to a center.
