If you watched the game, the actual Clutch was advertising for his run this weekend....or next (i forgot) for his dad whom had a double lung transplant....him and his family spoke during the game Clutch > Coyote....that Coyote starts to get ridiculously annoying, and that's from an unbias standpoint
Hate to hear that about Clutch. As I stated earlier, I don't get to go to the TC much so this makes sense. I think we all knew we were doomed at that point. We dropped about $750 for my wife and I to drive down, get a room, good seats, and dinner. So we made the most of it by opening and closing the doors as we don't get to do this often. I was mid court in the lower bowl and number of folks leave when we were 1 point down. That.... was hard to believe. BINGO. My whole thought to this post was exactly this. Like it or not, a better presentation would mean a livelier crowd. A livelier crowd energizes the payers and would be good for at least a few extra wins.... like this one.
Any red rowdies on the forum? Maybe the red rowdies can "deputize" people who aren't actually red rowdies to come to games on their own accord and be trained in the ways of rowdiness. Not a bad idea in my point of view. From what I know of the rowdies, they're not just rowdy at home games. They get rowdy around town at bars watching away games, too.
ATT Center is in the middle of the hood, of course people get in there early, there's nothing to do outside. I hate that place, it's in the middle of nowhere, I'm paying an obscene amount of money for HEB hot dogs. At least at Toyota Center, I have no idea where the expensive hot dogs are coming from.
My in laws have 8th row seats for the spurs. The charter area they have for people sitting in that area is so nice. I have sad in club level at TC and it doesn't compare to what ATT has. However they have no Red and White Bistro which is a nice novelty.
To be honest it's partly because the Lexus Lounge is too good of a hang out sport for those in the lower bowl area.
We did this in the playoffs against Utah a few years ago. Dave_78 organized it...we basically had the whole section and everyone was standing for the entire second half. The most ruckus environment I've seen at TC.
I am a die hard Rockets fan as well who grew up in Houston and now lives in San Antonio. I must say that I agree with the OP verbatim. The Coyote is very interactive, intermission games/events go oss without a hitch, and from courtside to the balcony the crowd noise is deafening. Deafening.
I AGREE!!! I HAVE SEASON TICKETS....111, ROW 15....IT IS BOOoorrring, UNTIL THE LAST OF THE 4TH QTR!!!
I think it also has to do with emotional investment. We have a fairly young team with a frequently rotating roster. There is no "face of the franchise" that will retire here for certain. We don't have a Hakeem, Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, Tim Duncan, etc to cheer on and truly make a part of the city and its history.
I have season tix and am always standing, yelling, screaming, and armchair coaching lol. I'm usually the only one in my section though, and it just so happens that I don't embarrass easily. I care 0%... I think they would have ejected me from Oracle Arena if they could have, given the spectacle I made of myself @ the Warriors game in Oakland earlier this year. If you're someone who minds calling a lot of attention to yourself, TC is probably not the venue for you. I personally love our announcer. The shady Eeyore-like way he says opposing teams' player's names cracks me up.
They really haven't showed that they are here for good and I just don't see the intensity that they want it all.
Been to a lot of games in both places. AT&T center definitely has TC beat on volume level. It's not all the crowd... some of the volume level just seems to be louder, like music, etc. As an increasingly old fart, I found it too loud, lol. Like really hurting my ears. But the crowd is also louder, and I am fine with and prefer that type of loudness. But I'm not down with any of the other comments. All else goes to TC imo. AT&T center is in the middle of nowhere, is really dark, I don't care for the concessions area, is really steep (maybe better for sightlines... but it just seems uncomfortable) while still being tight space wise. I see no difference amongst the other intangibles - dancers, mascot (I prefer Clutch but whatever), half-time shows (lol at this even being mentioned, they are hit and miss by game no matter where you go), etc.
