From the other Deng thread in NBA dish: How about Phoenix? They get Asik, we get Deng, and Chicago gets Dragic + Rockets filler (Brewer, DMo, or Garcia) + one of the protected 2014 1st round picks from Phoenix.
Another possibility Lin and Jones for Larry Sanders. Apparently advance stats has Sanders the best interior defender in the league. Wonder if Morey would do this.
How does that make Phoenix better? Seems to me Dragic + Bledsoe is the secret sauce making Phoenix work... and they're not horrible defensively.
Lin for Deng straight up Chicago is trying to get rid of Loul Deng anyway and imo he's one of my fav players, would love to have him. Our starting lineup: Beverly, Harden, Parsons, Jones, Howard Bench: Brooks, Garcia, Deng, Casspi, Asik Deng can be that guy that locks up the other team's best player, and he brings playoff experience as well.
Phoenix would have to send out salary here. It could be another player/prospect like Alex Len (assuming Chicago wanted him) since he wouldn't get minutes behind Asik/Plumlee anyway. I don't see Phoenix giving up Bledsoe. It comes down to whether or not Phoenix is committed to Dragic:
Well, the idea would be pursuing after Boozer gets hit with the amnesty clause. The Suns (and now the Pacers) were able to get Scola for a fraction of his market value this way. That or sign him outright if he clears.
The Nuggets are looking to trade Andre Miller ASAP. He would fit in well with the Rockets being a pass first PG and would give leadership to the Rockets. J Lin and Andre Miller make the same money this season, so they should just do the deal straight up. Denver can play Ty Lawson and J Lin together, Andre Miller would be great next to Harden. A no brainer in my mind.
If Rockets get deng what would the lineups be. Can Deng play the 2 while Harden plays the 1? Or would tjones be pushed out as a starter and Parsons moves to the 4? Or would Deng just come off the bench.
The whole concept of this trade is to buff our perimeter defense. Harden being a slack defender at the 2 spot really makes things difficult, because we need 2 tallish defenders on the perimeter. At our latest game with the kings, neither lin nor harden could help defend Rudy on a screen. Rudy would make easy 8 foot jumpers over their heads , just far enough out of range of Dwight. Therefore in order for this to make sense we have to move harden to pg and Deng to sg. If we move him to pf, we would have an inside defense problem.
I wish there was some way we could do a deal with Toronto like: Toronto Gets: Asik, D-Mo, Brewer Houston Gets: Amir Johnson and Terrence Ross Obviously have to throw in some draft picks to make it workable for both teams but we need some new players on this team.
Toronto's not doing anything like this anytime soon. You should feel the excitement in the city now that they are actually winning. + Amir is their golden boy.
Dream Sceneraio for Me. Try to get Bynum for a Min, if he wants a shot at the title. And do a three way with OKC,ORL Houston Out: Jeremy Lin,Omer Asik,Covington,2014 2nd round pick(from Philly) Houston In:Jameer Nelson,Glen Davis,Thabo Sefolosha,1st Round Pick(from Dallas) Orlando Out:Jameer Nelson,Glen Davis,Arron Afflalo,E.Moore,2016 pick(from Philly) Orlando In:Jeremy Lin,Jeremy Lamb,Reggie Jackson,Kendrick Perkins,2014 2nd Round Pick Oklahoma Out:Kendrick Perkins,Jeremy Lamb,Reggie Jackson,Thabo Sefolosha, 1st Round Pick(from Dallas) Oklahoma In:Omer Asik,Arron Afflalo,E.Moore,R.Covington,2016 1st Round Pick(from Philly) New Lineup for Houston Nelson/Bev/Brooks/Canaan Harden/Sefolosha/Garcia Parsons/Casspi Jones/Davis/Smith Howard/Bynum well its all a dream. loool
OK guys. You can now take Deng and Chicago out of these discussions. The Bulls traded Deng to Cleveland for Bynum and some first round picks.
