A Rocket at Heart was a fantastic book to read to learn about Rockets history. It tells Rudy T's story, and since he was with the Rockets for so many years as both a player and coach, it's a great source for Rockets history. I learned a ton. Warning: I developed a mad crush on Rudy T after reading it.

A second book I've read about Rudy T was The Punch. http://www.amazon.com/The-Punch-Changed-Basketball-Forever/dp/B000ESSSMA/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_1 It talks about both Rudy T and Kermit Washington, the punch, and their lives before and after the punch. Not too terribly Rockets filled, but it does go into depth about a pretty significant NBA history moment.

Not sure why, but I totally read the thread title as "Rockets release Brooks" and almost dropped bricks faster than a construction worker with Parkison's.
