It's crazy. Pretend Lin and his fans never existed and I think people would question this decision more.
Harden and Howard can get McHale fired. He sat Harden once, don't think he'll do much more of sitting him.
You are right. Harden's near triple double with 37 points on 10 shots likely didn't have much to do with the win... I'm glad I got the hell out of this thread when the game ended, because I knew exactly what would happen.
It had to do with keeping the team in the game. But when it came down to it, the score was 100-100 and the Knicks gave the game away. So it doesn't seem like the Rockets really won the game.
19 shots. Sure Harden kept the Rockets in the game, but in the end, it was JR who gave the game away.
10 shots made I meant. And 'Keeping them in the game' sometimes is all a superstar player has to do. If Harden has a bad night the Knicks run away with it.
-Lin couldn't contain Udrih -Lin drove into the lane and missed/to like twice -he wasn't really able to orchestrate the offense for whatever reason... Idk if benching whole 4th quarters warranted, but he'll prolly see his faults more clearly and continue working on them. Everyone should be thankful the losing streak is over x.x
I think it's hard to criticize a guy with those types of stats from last night, however there is a point to be made about the difference between efficient play from one player or one player that leads to efficiency for all. Holding the ball, the turnovers, the jacked up three's in critical situations, waving Howard off and losing his man all may have led to a close game that wasn't suppose to be close. We should have blown them out but the Rockets aren't playing like a team and when this iso ball works Harden looks like the hero. He needs to be a leader. This game was a loss, it's just that the Knicks are so bad they gave it to us. No offense to Jeremy, Aaron, and Beverly but this team needs a facilitator that does not defer to Harden.
Response Rockets should bring in JR's younger brother to thank JR for his stupid play. If JR played in Rockets, he would be riding the bench all season.
Response Only thing is AB was worse than Lin. Many picks for Udrih. Lin seemed like a ping pong bouncing off their pick setter.
Udrich scored 10 points. Lin shot 5-11 and had 14 points in the first half. Missing a few shots in one quarter isn't that big a deal. He was 3-3 FTs. Orchestrating an offense is tough for a PG that is sharing this task with his SG and who also doesn't get any screens set for him. Chandler used to set them for him and now he was on the other end of Chandler's screens. Let's go to the 3rd quarter. Lin brought the ball up, passed to Parsons, Parsons back to Lin, Lin to Harden. Harden makes corner 3. Go look at Lin's assists at NBA.com, you'll see this play. The next possession was almost exactly the same except Harden missed the 3. So, Lin had some orchestrating of the offense and really started Harden going in a way. Lin tried too hard to take it to Chandler, definitely stupidity on his part to take on his former team mate and looked bad doing so. Learning from mistakes at this point in Lin's season and tenure with the Rockets is playing through them. It's not that hard to figure out and it is what Beverley does as well, he's not yanked when he makes bonehead errors like some of the fouls he makes. And rightly so because he'll come back and make a huge play, get an offensive rebound or tip-in. In the same vein, Lin has shown he can step in up in the 4th and get a huge steal, make big buckets, assists and even sometimes defensive stops after having either bad shooting nights or making some bad turnovers or bonehead plays. The losing streak is over, be very thankful because that was one strange way to win a game.
Response Yeap, agree. Rockets developing bad habits which will doom their chances of going far into playoffs.
I never imagine myself to say this, but tonight's game seems to be an example of why Lin being racially discriminated. How can they not play him in the 4th? Especially when Aaron Brooks did nothing to improve the team. How can you justify this? Lin was in fact playing okay...he was being aggressive and although missed some shots but he was aggressive and attack the basket and seem to present problems for the Knicks. If Lin is not injured...i demand an answer for this. Really, it's stupid...Brooks suck at defense, can't shoot and missing assignments and yet you still leaving in there to play the entire 4th quarter?? If they hate Lin so much, why not just trade him.
Here's a question, how many more blowout wins did we have last year compared to this year at this point and time in the season? feel like last year we blew out teams more, this year it feels like every game is a close one
