of course it's your type of game. but you would be having a melt down if lin didn't show up in the games he carried the load in this season. that's 7 games for a record of 15-20. if you're a true rockets fan, you'd be appreciative of his contributions. It's a team game, but valiant performances are always taken into account

yeah, Lin has a pretty big role in the Rockets having a winning record. And he should, he's payed to produce. He's producing pretty regularly, including in last night's game, kind of despite the coaching staff at times.

No, Garcia had that one 3 and that's it, 3 points in 19 minutes. Casspi had 5 points in 6 1/2 minutes. Best thing for Garcia was his 4 rebounds but he also had 4 fouls in 19 minutes.

It's just your opinion the offense stinks. The only thing I'm concerned about on offense is Howard getting his post game together. That will help everyone. Team defense is what they need to concentrate on at this point.

And they darn sure would have lost last night if Harden wasn't playing "Hero Ball"... Whatever da heck that means...

Hero Ball means Harden didn't get his shots through good possessions but more played ISO, sometimes 1 on 3, took shots that sometimes fall and sometimes don't, and they fell. This is not something the Rockets can depend on. A good offense is where players set on-ball/off-ball screens for each other, players move and cut, look to find openings, move the ball, play inside-outside and utilize the post player, etc. This offense is stagnant and ugly right now save a few nice fast break points and it rather taxes a few players rather than having their buckets come through ball movement and team-play.

We should have lost the game. The only reason we won is because NY is more mentally stupid at the end of games than we are. We tried to give it to them but they couldn't take it and they had multiple shots at it. Even with our defense trying to play hard, they still had wide open shots from 3 at the end but they were stupid not to get the ball to Anthony there.

Garcia really pissed me off on that jump ball foul. Dude makes some of the dumbest plays I've ever seen in crunch time.

I have to say, and I'm no crazy Lin fan, it does seem Mchale likes to go with anybody late besides Lin. I mean what's is going on? Let the kid play and learn. I didn't use to buy into conspiracy theories until now. There is no excuse for not letting Lin finish games when the alternatives are not that much better. I mean Douglas? Bev ? Ab at this stage in his career?

Its almost as if mngt sent a message to the coaching staff to not let him loose. The best thing is to trade him to a team where he can grow.

Lin deserves a chance to grow with a team that will put the ball I'm his hands and let him go.

    Just my two cents,....

A bad coach doesn't go with a proven 4th quarter performer. This season Lin has shown McHale how he can raise his level of play in the 4th Q. McHale, Sampson look like 2 idiots to me when you don't put a player with this tendency on the court in the 4th. And Lin has done this after looking like crap in earlier quarters. This is one reason why McH is a bad coach, there are others as with how he runs the team and runs down some of his players. His treatment of Harden, Parsons, Dwight, Lin, his major players is abysmal.

Had we gone to OT how many minutes would Harden and Parsons have played? The thought scares me.

No one has earned any right to play any minutes. But certainly, many players have earned their coach trust to play minutes, to play through slump, mistakes.... Under McHale with the Rockets, McHale trust Harden and somewhat Parson as evident by them playing major mins even when they sometime struggle. Nothing wrong with that.

Absolutely have no problem with Brook finishing the game. Absolutely have no problem with Dwight sitting out those few times. Absolutely have no problem with McHale benching starters for players he thinks will help him win.

But I do have a big problem with him rarely ever treating Harden the same way. Perhaps in McHale head, Harden offensive skill is too important to sit him even when he's struggling mightly on offense, when he's making piss poor decisions, when he's iso-ing too much in an ineffective way, when he's (and to me this is most important) not giving full effort on the court.. it happens and McHale continue to ride him to the end. Perhaps McHale feels like no one else can replace Harden because of his potential to get it going at any moment. To me, it screams a favorite player treatment (or maybe only Harden has earned his right to play due to past performance?) and I think it leads to lack of accountability from the team, not just from Harden.

There is two extreme that I see. Little trust in Lin. A few mistakes or if momentum is on our side while Lin is out, very good chance Lin go to or stays on the bench. Absolute trust in Harden. Major mistakes, very little effort, momentum is our side while Harden is out.... almost certain Harden come back or stays on the court.

I wish McHale let Lin play through his mistakes more, trust him to close out more. I think Lin has shown he can be a major factor in helping to close games. I wish McHale also hold Harden a bit more accountable and bench him when he's not giving effort defensively or when he's really struggling offensively.

Lin has a better chance of playing in the 4th when we're against a strong team (i.e., if McHale gets nervous about losing the game, then he's more likely to play Lin).
