Morey has very few flaws or weaknesses as a general manager but this mchale fetish is definitely one of them. Also, he seems to undervalue the importance of having a good coach in this era of zone defenses.

If you had a disagreement with a hall of fame coach like Rick Adelman , he should've just talked it over during dinner or something. RA is a very reasonable man.

There must be a very "special" reason you replace a Hall of Fame coach who just became the winningest coach in rockets history. Like maybe a more competent hall of fame coach with a better record. Or maybe someone just lost his job in minnesota for sending the franchise player to the celtics causing the latter to win a championship. This after losing five first round picks in an under the table deal for joe smith. And you want to reward him for giving the celtics a favor and losing his job in the process even though he had a 39-55 record as a coach in minnesota. LONG LIVE THE BOSTON CELTICS!!

We keep talking about trading for and finding that last piece, but I think replacing our HC is the biggest move we can make in terms of increasing wins.

Mchale was a shady character in minnesota. The timberwolves franchise thought he would care about the team winning since Minnesota is his hometown.

They finally realized he doesn't care about the franchise when he traded away the franchise player to his former team: The Boston Celtics.

This is not news , If Mchale didn't care about his hometown minnesota team, how much more a rival team he played against in the 80s.

Rockets fans beware: Con men are smooth talkers.

How could Mchale have justified trading a franchise player like Garnett to the Celtics and not asking for Paul Pierce in return?

The art of being a con man.

"What does the average con artist look like? Despite what you may think, he isn't always a shady-looking character. A con artist is an expert at looking however he needs to look. If the con involves banking or investments, the con artist will wear a snappy suit. If it involves home improvement scams, he'll show up wearing well-worn work clothes."

Casey was on the final short list of candidates when the rockets were searching for a replacement for Rick Adelman. Unfortunately, the playing field was skewed in favor of the Boston Celtics Loyalist.

He is the man credited for designing the hybrid zone defense that destroyed the Miami Heat offense in their first trip to the finals.

And now the Toronto Raptors are having a resurgence under his tutelage behind his great defensive schemes.

I actually really like McHale as a person, despite his Celtic history... but his coaching does suck.... quit jumpin in poor Jeremy's ***** and get up in Hardens face already!

Imagine the gall of Kevin Mchale , publicly pronouncing he has no plans of trading Kevin Garnett to Minnesota Fans a few months before he trades him to the Celtics.

"Kevin McHale has a simple message for the Minnesota Timberwolves fans who wants him to quit as the toiling club's vice-president: I'm not leaving!
And he has also denied there are plans to trade franchise star Kevin Garnett while pledging to rebuild a dysfunctional squad which finished with a 32-50 record, missing the playoffs for a third straight season."

Kevin Mchale is simply a double talking, shameless , straight-faced con man.

This is April 2007. Then in June 2007 the mega deal takes place despite kevin garnett's reluctance to play for Boston.

R and R offense. Google it.

Our offense > spurs offense. Stats prove it.

There are many other coaches that are available but Mchale is indispensable because he is an extraordinary on-court talent evaluator and isolation play master strategist.

He also talks well enough to be in the good graces of James Harden , Daryl Morey, and MOFs (Mother F /Mchale Only Fans) love him .

I think the other Van Gundy is waiting, I feel like Dwight actually wants a coach who will get on Harden's ass, lol. It was one thing I noticed about his LA stay, MDA's unwillingness to confront Kobe about his no defense thing, but Dwight at this point can't come out publicly and say he wants rid of a coach.

what is the possibility of the rockets bringing back Adelman if they fire Mchale after this season...?
could you imagine Adelman with this team would do... it would be really fun to watch.

You can call whatever name you want, but handling the ball to Harden to play heroball is not a play.

Adelman and Les did not part on good terms, and Adelman had harsh words with the media the next season about Les. Add to the fact that Adelman's wife has recently had some health issues, and its looking like he might only have a year or two left in the game anyways.

There is no way in hell that Adelman ever coaches the Rockets again. People need to stop being delusional about the Adelman years, thinking that they were so incredible and everything was so perfect then, and that there is a chance that he will ever be back.

Adelman is gone... its time to move on folks.

    This!

Adelman went on record and refuted what Les said about calling him. That was like calling Les a liar.

    McHale is awesome.

Houston Rox should lock him up for another six years.
