Doesn't the fact that you had to wait 1 and a half month to bump this thread tell you something?

Basically people want the ball in Lin's hands because there's far more likely to be an actual play involved.

    1. You watched the game. You are just being a dbag.
    2. Harden at least has the balls to try to close the game. Doesn't always lead to the win but singled handedly won us the spurs game. He's not Kobe or anything but this thread is stupid to compare the two. Lin gives the ball to Harden. That's all that needs to be said.

I would run the last play for Harden every time, with the expectation that he deviates from the plan if he can't get a good shot. Sure it only feels like Kobe, and MJ hits the game winner every time, but they miss it more often than not.

Stop fooling yourself. The balls to close the game? More like the ego and inflated head to close the game. Lin passes it to him because it's what he's told to do.

I love that people would still rather have this team lead by Asik and Lin and continue to finish with the 14th pick over and over. If you don't want Harden and Howard, tell me how this team could be better? (Assuming delusion "Lin could lead this team" responses.)

the problem is not the LAST shot. the problem is taken the LAST, second to last, third to last, forth to last, and fifth to last shot....

I think your reasoning is a bit extreme. I think most fans and even the Lin fans wants a more balance approach. When people say, stop with the ISO plays, they don't necessarily mean pass it Lin. Outside of 5 minutes, I think giving Howard the ball isn't a bad option, unless he's having a terrible night. The Harden fans want the ball in his hand, the Rockets fan want the ball with whomever has the hot hands and best look at the basket.

    I like Lin but

I like Lin but no. Our primary closer should be harden then Howard, then parsons and Lin. However harden needs to truest his teammate more and when their is a better shot by a teammate then he needs to learn to give it up. sometimes I feel like his hero ball is forced or he's holding onto the ball to long. He shouldn't always be taking the last shot, he should sometimes instead to instigate the move, draw a double team and make a good pass. This should be a team effort. He's not as good of a closer as lillard.

Why can't we play team ball and make space for the hot hands?

the issue with your point is not that I don't disagree, it's that howard needs a PG to get him the ball so the ball can't be in harden's hands because he will shoot. howard will also get fouled meaning a 50+% free throw shooter won't get the job done. we've seen that. if the teams stop fouling howard, time to change approach.

parsons can create his own shots but he's not the one bringing the ball up so unless someone passes him the ball, he's SOL.

so it comes down to harden and the PG which is now Lin.

now if you get a Love or a big guy that can shoot free throws, then it's PNR or run a play to get the big posted up and live with the guy shooting foul shots.

How are we at 68% yes on this? lol. That's crazy.

Harden is our closer. He just needs to mature.

I want harden on the team, just with better decision making & more effort on D.

In regards to without Howard on how this team would be better that's easy, millsapp & iggy this summer. keeping Ppat signing a vet sharp shooter dunleavy to VET MID level contract we still have.

    asik/smith/camby or filler
    Millsapp/ppat/jones
    iggy/parsons/dunleavy
    Harden/iggy/dunleavy/Garcia
    Lin/bev/brooks

This is a deep team, with vet experience & leadership. If a player were to get hurt we have plenty that could step up. The starters would play less mins, because our bench would be strong unlike this year.

^^^^ & I like Howard but he doesn't get ball in crunch time & has shown that he's not going to put this team over a hump when it comes to clippers, pacers, okc. That's why we're so concerned in what we get for asik & brining in another star. If he was worth that $22mill contract we wouldn't be worried about who we play in 1st round.
