Manu is also different. He always takes responsibility for his own mistakes, something that I think has a lot to do with how the Spurs are coached. Strauss is a huge Howard defender. He's also a GSW fans, but all the things I've read/heard from him are pretty fair and objective. I think he giving Harden the David Lee treatment (someone Strauss loves to call out on defense). Harden is not going anywhere nor should he. He's only the best SG in the league and there were games we've won because of Harden and in spite of McHale. Any drastic change we make has to start with the coaching staff.
Yeah, let's trade Harden for Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, Steven Adams, and a couple of late draft picks. That sounds like a great way to move forward.
Chemistry takes time. Injuries make it take more time. But there is a point where you realize more time wont make it better. By chemistry, I not only mean the players on the floor, but the coaching staff to player dynamic as well as the GM to coaching one.
I see nothing wrong with trading Harden, as long as the trade helps the team. Trade one superstar for another, it's not impossible to imagine.
not that terrible of a prediction, but not gonna happen in 2015. worst comes to worst, and i mean worst, we fire mchale next year. this is a players league. harden wont be shipped out...if he somehow is, it WONT be next year.
<br> First time I've actually read a GARM thread in a long time. Holy ****. The amount of stupidity in here is ridiculous. It actually caused me to lose brain cells reading that. Thanks.
This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen! We would still be battling for the 14th pick if it wasn't for harden!
You're absolutely nuts. A draft pick is a crap shoot at BEST. NO GM would pass on a legitimate All Star for their draft pick, especially one that's 24 like Harden. Given how many draft picks completely bust, AND that even if you're in last place you only have a 35% chance at a #1 pick, any GM that didn't trade a 2014 1st round unprotected pick + more picks + young talent and other pieces would be fired. Folks really over value 2014 draft picks on this board. Yes, a top draft pick gives you a really good shot at a nice prospect. Yes, some of those prospects will probably become All Stars. However, not all of them will become all stars, some will wash out, some will get injured, etc, etc. 100% sure fire All Star with a track record vs a player that *might* be as good as Harden in 3 or 4 years? If Morey put Harden on the block, guaranteed he'd get a 2014 unprotected 1st rounder + more.
Howard came here to play with harden point blank end of discussion. Hardens not playing as well as we like but he's aloe 24 years old and better that all but maybe 6 players in the league. Theirs absolutely no way the rockets to would trade there best player who happens to be 24 less that 120 games in as the lead guy. Some of you guys have no patience. It takes time but if you can't see the enormous talent that James harden is then your quite frank an idiot. Wait till James is 26-28 and ask yourself if you want to trade harden. You see the glimpses of him Playing both sides and doing it elite. He'll get it down he makes the game look easy and can be the best player on the court no matter who's on it. He's gone head to head with Lebron and KD and the two best players in the game came away saying he's a superstar top player in the league. He's 24 give him patience
So much of it is down to effort, but alot is also to do with the broken defensive schemes. Theres no accountability or defensive discipline whatsoever from any of our perimeter players. Against NOP in the 4th there was a particular play in the fourth (wish i had the screencap) and Lin was just in utter nomansland, like way worse than normal, wanted to tear my hair out. Harden has the body to be a good defender. good size, great wingspan, he's shown FLASHES of being at least an above average defender, but his complete apathy is just annoying as hell to watch. I can excuse Ellis going of on Beverley cause you know he's going hard as hell at him even with a slight mismatch. But when even Bill Worrell says in the call "you just cant hide him on anybody, they'll find a way to get at him (Harden)" and the recent post game comments, you know somethings up, and you know the players/coaches know it too
