Your concerns are well found but remember our schedule will get easier, since we have faced one of the hardest schedules with teams like OKC, Portland, Spurs, Grizzlies and other strong Western teams during December and then there was the 4 games in 5 nights stretch as well. Imo we should be more patient with losses and more encouraging. We're all in this together afterall
This is not a one-game thing. If this is the first time we see a Harden ISO in late game, you and I wouldn't be having this conversation. At. All. If you are perfectly, perfectly content with us losing the game tonight with Harden's back-to-back TOs, then you and I can simply agree to disagree. I just feel like we should be a much better team than we are. Regardless, I'm done for the night. Thanks for the conversation and hopefully 2014 will bring us more Ws. Happy New Year.
OKC is 25-6 because they have a lot of talent and their core has been together for several years. Do you realize that OKC runs more isos than most any team out there? What does OKC do for the last shot? They iso Westbrook or Durant. What does Miami do? They iso Lebron. Go check out SpursTalk and you'll see a bunch of people complaining how the Spurs let Tony Parker play hero ball at the end of games. The Lakers have won a ton during the Kobe era and how did they close games? ISO Kobe and guess what, he ends up shooting a low percentage. I do agree that stats don't paint the entire picture. Of course, you're the one that posted the stats to begin with.
Been busy all day had to sale my tickets for tonight's game didn't catch game but seems like the same problem from last year, you guys who are taking up for harden I have news for you, if you been watching NBA recent years you wold know most of the time Kobe, melo, curry, love etc get their season gigs their team does not come out with the L, 1 reason they try to do it all once the other coach has made adjustments, 2 reason other teammates go cold get out of sink having to ball watch on offense which can lead to bad defense because they ball watch on defense because of the lack of touches on offense.
Love is the king of empty stats. Melo? Wow .Even Kobe hasn't been clutch as he was say 5 years ago on regular basis. Durant had a bigger failure then harden tonight with the same 12-26 shooting with less points and was terrible in the clutch.
The guy scored 38 with 10 boards and the reason that we lost is because he had 2 turnovers? I was perfectly happy with Harden driving the ball to the hoop when he got the charge. He had a lane but Cousins got over and made a play. I'm not content with the fact that we lost but I'm also smart enough to know that those things happen (see Durant's game tonight) and that there's plenty of reasons that we lost tonight.
Edit*** when these players get their season high their team does not come out with the W because of reasons stated above, sorry about the edit, I'm on it HNY
You really believe that Kobe is hitting game winners most of the time? Maybe you should read this : http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/24200/the-truth-about-kobe-bryant-in-crunch-time If Kevin Love's teams weren't getting the L most of the time then they likely would have made the playoffs at least once during his career. EDIT: Misunderstood your point. As far as season high's, so far this year Love has put up 36,45 and 42 in losses. Likewise, Hakeem's 50 pt game vs Seattle was a loss too.
If you watched our losing streak last year at the end of the season that had us drop to 8th you will remember the grizzlies game at home, & suns on the road, he'll mchale/harden ISO low key almost costed us game 4 at TC if ibaka didn't miss that layup tip in Like I said in threads before don't get mad now, when 80% of CF was saying harden needs ball in his hands & play with a spot up shooter. Stick to your word! Don't complain now, but of you think we winning a chip like that you don't know basketball !
Without Harden we wouldn't even make the playoffs, and we wouldn't have Dwight. It's either this chance of working for the championship right now or hoping we get players in the lottery and then hope they work with the players we have and in 5-10 years we can compete for a chip.
Gees was anyone complaining when harden scored 16 points in the Third quarter to single handed lay carry us after we looked pathetic in the first half or after scoring 10 in the last with a couple of minutes to get us a 6 point lead?
Tired of seeing this, yeah harden helped us make playoffs but without Asik we wouldn't have made it last year either Season before harden came we almost made playoffs with dragic at PG, we just went on a losing streak at end of the season when we were a lock to make playoffs. You can like harden all you want but if he couldn't win it with durant & Westbrook don't get ya hopes up here
Many people (calling all gym class heroes) on this board need to calm down. Last I checked it's an 82 game season and there are still plenty of trades to be made. Houston is currently more fortunate than most as we truly possess championship caliber players. Is it all there yet? Clearly not. Still, there is a certain camaraderie amongst our team that is rarely seen in pro sports. This will serve us well going forward and eventually we will make the right moves (and not merely shake things up), which will in turn provide us with a long term roster capable of winning it all. A big time win against a seasoned SA is more telling than a close loss to an up and coming team. Sactowns's record might be awful, but they are a complete team chock-full of talent. Better times are to come in 2014. Happy New Year's you filthy animals.
You are making a total fool out of yourself. Harden was their best player in the Dallas and the Spurs series. You know did you see how well he played against the world champion Mavs and Destroyed the Spurs?. To blame or say he couldn't win with those two against the Heat is a joke. Just go back to bed dude. Because I am at reading this utter thrash. Does he have bad shot selection, he'll yes, but you're hate runs deeper.
so two 23 years olds and a 22 year old against Lebron James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade all in their primes and since they didn't win then, they will never win. WOW. OKC and Houston, we will be having several more disappointing seasons then. Grapernutz will surely be mad to hear this
