So I can't load a custom roster at all. Is that because of server issues? Why in the world would 2k limit us to using online files to play offline games? I cannot believe we can't save roster files on the hard drive and load directly.
Yup, I think the 2k servers are down. A lot of people can't play right now. This is why this game, among others that require a internet connection is frustrating. I don't remember NBA 2k12 or 2k13 mandating a internet connection to play myCareer or the association mode.
2k servers are back, so we can play our MyCareers again. That was frustrating. I wish they would give you a better indication that the servers were down, instead of making you think maybe your save game is jacked. Anyway, in lieu of not being able to play my Pro career, I went and created an offline "vc" not "VC *cold coin*" career and put it on Hall of Fame difficulty. It is a bit more challenging. My shooting % is still pretty high since I attack the basket as an athletic PG. I did make myself shorter though, 6'3''. So I get blocked a good amount. Dynamic goals are a little tougher for me to get though. I got drafted by the TWolves this time. Adelman puts me in and says he needs me to go on a run, or keep someone scoreless. HoF...yeah, it's not happening. I still put up a damn impressive line of stats. Nearly a triple-double with 40 points. I get called in to the office and am told I didn't come through in my chance and my minutes are being cut back. Oh, and my team chemistry sucks because I wanted to do the exact opposite of what I did in my first MyCareer. So we lose a lot of games hahah. My GM approval is 0%. Dude don't like me at all, haha!
yeah ETK, that period of what, 3 days? True suckiness. They should give us some VC for the missed days. The worst part is how they don't even own up.
My game has been going to a black screen after the Lebron James and NBA logo loading. I hope reinstalling the game will work..if not I'm going to have to get rid of it. Edit 1: Reinstalling gets me back into the game, but I can't play myCareer or myGM still. Anyone know how to fix this? Edit 2: Game finally works...but wtf. They made me make a temp myPlayer profile and now he's the face of my guy in myCareer. =/
In my features, only 23 faces show up and none of them are the original one I made. I also lost out in about 80k VC because all of my upgrades in myGM got reset to zero.
Absolutely, and the question/answer news conferences have the same issue... I was posed a question revolving around myplayer's below average showing in a game where his minutes were reduced, yet on a per minute basis played well... From the selection of answers, I had to either throw my team under the bus, or the coach... Myplayer is a defensive specialist SG, but thanks to the free VC can contribute to the offense (has hit the teens in points several times despite playing under 12mins), however I don't feel he's quite up there yet to start casting blame (he was drafted late in the first round)... I'm basing this on merit... silly me... I do have some issue with Ty Lawson (was drafted by Denver), he seems to be in direct competition with me for minutes despite playing different positions, and goes out of his way to force the issue late in games to the detriment of our team after Myplayer has contributed to our team's resurgence... It's cost us two games already... but, I'm biding my time with the GM... waiting to be a starter, at least... At any rate, I select the only seemingly neutral answer given, "that's just how the game unfolded"... And, what I hear come out of the VA's mouth... is NOT at all what I was going for... Killed my fan/local fan support and made Myplayer seem like he was a complacent slacker... I guess the game wants Myplayer to be an egotistical, entitled ass that demands more minutes, and more shots as a rookie that hasn't proven a damn thing... Other than Ty Lawson, I had no reason to blame the team... Coach had just moved MyPlayer up to sixth man a previous game... no idea why he reduced Myplayer's minutes the following game... He had single digit points, and made a few mistakes, but he had a couple of assists, set several picks for points, had a blocked shot, no turnovers and his man had zero points for every minute he was out there... Why the hell is a defensive specialist SG being expected to be an offensive machine off the bench..? And answer to reporters like he should be one... He has no iso ability... I don't want him to be an isolation player... His offensive strengths are cutting (pretty good quickness, dunking rating), and the high post (which at the moment he's merely serviceable at) - still working on his 3pt rating... Is that what 2k wants EVERYONE to aim for..? Offensive supertars...? I thought the point of Myplayer was to live out one's own individual NBA fantasy... Well my NBA fantasy is to be a star team player, and exceptional wing defender... Not to be Kobe Bryant or Carmello Anthony... I'm perfectly fine being an athletic lockdown defender that's called on to guard the best wings in the league... and can give you 15-18ppg 3-5 assists 3-4rbs 2.5stls 1blk a game... and be a respectable threat behind the arc... Well, this reply clearly devolved into more of a rant... still, it's in general agreement to your original complaint... This game really doesn't seem to permit a gray area, a middle ground... Certainly not for Myplayer...
And during Holiday weekend and week...I barely have time to get a game in with the NBA on and such...as watching actual NBA games comes before playing virtual ones... Sucks...hopefully it doesn't happen too often and isn't down for too long...was really looking forward to playing last week....

For those having 2k server issues, is it enough to make you cross over to EA or at least consider it? Me, I have thought about it but truth be told, after watching trailers on this years EA game, as much as I hate not being able to play both myGM or myPlayer, its not enough to fully push me over the other side. On another note, I lost 3k building a room in myGM when the game couldnt save
Anyone know how to make multiple user controlled teams in MyGM or season? I read somewhere that you can in Season but not MyGM, but I can't figure it out. Bummer because me and my brother always have associations together.
From my understanding, myGM wasn't made that way. Could be wrong though. But from other forums, this was a complaint. New question, is transferring your 360 2k14 myPlayer over to the next gen?
Just got this game for ps4. It's so complicated. I just been playing quick games and still getting my ass beat lol Im more of a FPS type of person. The graphics are amazing tho.
After being traded to the Wolves I requested another trade and was sent to the Heat. I'm at 69 overall and found Ray Allen's release to be perfect for My Career mode. I just got selected as rookie of the month for December. Trey Burke is my only real competition for ROY award but I believe if I get my assists over 7 I should be able to nudge him out since his PPG average is about 16. This game is addicting especially with all the new features added.
