Nicolas Anelka (football (soccer) player) did the same.

    Idiots.

You obviously know more about this than most posters. Is the gesture being blown out of proportion or is it really antisemitic? Also, why do people even care about a gesture some comedian invented?

If I was tony parker I wouldn't apologize. It's not like it's a well known gesture or anything.

Anti-semitism is a big deal. Parker used an antisemitic symbol and posted the picture standing next to a known anti-semite.

Parker&Anelka should be role models for kids that look up to them, instead they're using the spotlight to promote hate against a certain group of people.

    To add:
The NBA, as a league that stands for tolerance and has Jewish players, should punish Parker for this.
Croatian player Simunic did a similar thing and got banned from the 2014 World Cup. If the NBA had balls, they would ban Parker for a certain amount of time, not doing anything would mean they look away and don't stand for their own values.

Tony knows exactly what this symbol is. People do it in Europe outside of concentration camps and in coordination with it deny the holocaust. When you forget these atrocities happened is when they happen again. Suspend tony Parker for the season.

Wow what a mistake, this is shameful. Tony knows better. He should be given a significant suspension for this.

Šimunić is an idiot. Most of the Croatians that fled to Australia during the middle years of the 20th century are fascists (ustashe), so it's not surprising. Even Andrew Bogut was a bit too sympathetic towards him.

It is a well known anti-semetic symbol in France and Europe in general. We don't want it to get established here

I hope he gets suspended or fined. I want the Rockets to catch the Spurs in the standings.

Lots of people out for blood, and lots of people claiming to know what Tony Parker thinks. Everyone needs to calm down before they start lining up to assassinate someone's character.

Yeah this is the big new "trend" in France right now.

Dieudonné is a huge antisemic/racist/douchebag comedian, that is making some noise at the moment in France with his new show. And some big stars keep doing his "quenelle" sign which they say is a form of anti-conformism but really is a horrible gesture.
Started with Anelka a couple of days ago, seems Parker did it too.

People doing it on my Facebook feed as well...

They say its a joke and not a big deal, but it actually is. Some kids are going to start doing these things after scoring goals and baskets on the playground.

    He should apologise.

I'll be very surprised if Stern doesn't do anything.

No it's not being blown out of proportion. Tony Parker knew exactly what he was doing and he should be punished for it. It's ethnic hate, plane and simple. It's worse, by far, than shooting the middle finger. It would be no different than if a guy through up a KKK salute after a scored a basket or made a touchdown.

It's a symbol of hate and the fact that Tony Parker used it proves damn well that he knew exactly what it was.

    Black people as anti-semites....
    The irony

Definitely a big deal at a minimum he needs to issue a strongly worded apology.
