It's hard not to read into the situation. We don't have good information on what is happening. Asik last season seemed like a reliable, good-character guy. This season... It is questionable.
It feels like he's not even a part of the team anymore. Whether he really is injured or not, Im over it. Per his request he'll be traded soon. The team really misses Smith though, what the status on him?
....... are you serious? LMAO... that's obviously not his knee. Does that look like just swelling to you? Plus that isn't his Twitter account.
I have absolutely no idea if this is his twitter account. I have pretty much rejected technological advances since I was at the forefront of them before I retired six years ago at 52. So you are quite possibly correct. But I am certainly not looking at the veracity of the post. Hell, after having my life run by email for 20+ years I can barely bring myself to check my inbox.
I'm fine with taking as many losses as possible, even though Bass and Lee may have helped the pathetic bench we currently have get into better position for the playoffs. Who cares if we possibly have a first round exit in one of our max player's past-his-prime-max-dollar-years, as long as we retain 'flexibility'? People need to see the bigger picture.
If someone posted a photo of someone's leg mauled by a Great White and said it was Asik's half the bbs would screech, "No wonder we can't trade him, we're f'd!"
I think if we would trade Asick today, he would be healthy immediately tomorrow. His knee's swelling would be magically disappeared.
Why would he be faking it? A chronic knee injury would cause his trade value to plummet and he can't get traded at all.
So Asick maybe out of game for the rest of season because of swelling knees? Rockets medical team also can't give detailed time table about his return.
Asik didn't have any word about his injury or his situation, even after his teammate warmly welcomed him on Twitter during the time of his trade was cancelled. Don't you think it's strange?
I don't believe he is injured, I have been around long enough to recognize what I think is the organization simply trying to do what is best to protect their asset etc. Unless someone trustworthy like Clutch says otherwise, this is what I believe is going on..... IMO - the Rockets and Asik have reached some sort of agreement for now to try to seek a trade and for the Rocks to not risk him getting injured by playing. Asik was probably promised to be the starter, and the situation changed, so he is pissed, and the Rockets need to move him for the betterment of all involved. Unless Asik is dying to play, we may have seen the last of him in a Rockets uniform. DD
