The illustration below shows that either Josh Smith or Greg Monroe is the odd man out in Detroit. I thought for sure it was Monroe because the Piston paid Josh Smith and did not extend Monroe:

Maybe they will end up trading Smith and keeping Monroe. Whatever happens, their "big 3" front line doesn't work in today's NBA. Josh Smith at SF is a waste.

If you were the Warriors, would you trade David Lee who has 3 yrs/$44MM left?

Smith's contract isn't all that bad IMO. I don't like his attitude sometimes but he's a very good player who does a lot of positive things on the floor. But playing him at SF is dumb. Pistons should have either not signed him or traded Monroe before the season started for a good starting swingman.

Especially when you consider what Josh Smith can do when motivated.

I guess you guys are right, but I wouldn't be comfortable with him as the 3rd best player on my team.

Also Adelman himself in regards to his relationship with Morey. Which also then extended to some players such as Martin and Lowry, with Scola having to tell everyone "Just shut the f-- up and play".

If Josh Smith was added to the Rockets without giving up Parsons, they would be elevated to the same category as OKC and the Spurs as Finals favorites.

I would love to have Smith,Jones can't shoot either and is putting up solid numbers now Imagine Smith in the line up who is a much more superior player.

Well sure, we are in a unique situation where parsons is being paid peanuts. In that scenario, we would undoubtedly be a contender. Unfortunately, this is the exception rather than the norm.

Josh Smith is a beast when controlled. Him driving is always a score, and he has a nice hook shot and some other moves for a post game. He also passes, defends, blocks, steals , rebounds and is a monster athletically. Other than his jump shooting he is strong in almost all aspects of basketball

Saying you don't want Josh smith because of his jump shooting is like saying you don't want Dwight because of his free throw shooting or that you don't want Harden because he doesn't defend.....

No, not with Adelman. That happened during McHale's first year here before Morey re-made the team.

Lowry, Lee and Co. wanted us to get back to Adelman's offense. They complained in the locker room. They complained to the media. So one practice session, Scola shouted at the team.

I love Scola. Our role players from the past--Scola, Hayes, Lee--would fit so well with our stars today. And McHale really wanted to keep Dragic.
