We would be much better off taking OT Jake Matthews or LB Anthony Barr. Matthews would give a Texan QB solid protection, but Barr would take the heat off J.J. Watt so that he would increase his effectiveness. We can always draft a quality QB in the second round -- Zack Mettenberger of LSU or A.J. McCarron of Alabama will be as good as Bridgewater -- probably better. Bridgewater is destined to be this year's E.J Emanuel or Blaine Gabbert.
LOL, I don't think anyone thinks that. It probably has to do with the fact one plays for Oregon and the other Louisville. I think the Texans will pick the guy who has the higher floor. Bridgewater at worst, looks like he will be a mobile Matt Schaub. Mariota may be a better athlete than Bridgewater, but I don't think he will ever be a better quarterback. Even saying that, Bridgewater isn't as far off in regards to athletic ability. He just feels more comfortable in the pocket.
i guess we'll be able to have our real opinion on him instead listening to dumb scouts who said Russell Wlson was too small and had bust written all over him..i wonder what Jon Gruden has to say about Bridgewater, he's the only guy's opinion i will actually listen to. He predicted Wilson would be great. And during the draft last year he never had a problem with Geno Smith dropping in the draft..
Can't wait to see his bowl game. This is his last gameday audition for the #1 pick. Miami pass defense is fairly salty.
Miles better than giving opinions after never having seen him play at all. Hopefully people will have enough sense to couch their opinions in, "I've only seen one game, but..."
