He was hobbling pretty bad yesterday. Got taped up and came out but Lin/Harden took over on the offensive end. Per Twitter, Feigen says he'll be good for Saturday's game.
on a game as close as yest, heck no....maybe for blowout games. of course hindsight is 20/20 but it's nice to see the reg rotation work through it and find their rhythm.
Good hear. After the early season of guards dropping one by one, and now with Bev out for 4-6 weeks, I worried that AB would be next on the list of guards injured this year.
Rookie of the year scenario Brooks sprains ankle on Ginobli's foot-all game lost Brooks sprains ankle on Grizzly player's foot-game comes back That's the optimist in me.
Rigid ankles put a lot more strain on the knees during lateral movements. People who crossover a lot like Brooks or eurostep as often as Harden would shorten their careers with hi-tops and their protection is not THAT much greater when your ankles are already wrapped. A thousand rolled ankles are still better than a bum knee.
Good to hear. We need AB at this point. Not necessarily for his scoring (which he can do consistently) but for his ball handling and ability to penetrate the lane. Our offense seems more fluid when he's running the point, more so than any of our other guards. Also, one thing that I think people forget is how important it is to make a good pass to the post. Watching Dwight secure his position and not get the ball--all because some of the guys can't make the pass to the post--drives me nuts. Dwight should be getting more touches, and it seems like it sometimes is an inability to get him the ball from the wing. AB is good for this because he had to pass to the post with Yao, Luis, Ron Ron, etc.. When I see Omri trying to throw a lob when Dwight is fronted, I know it will be a turnover. At this point our best "post-passer" is AB and Chandler, probably because they know how to move well without the ball after the pass, so the trajectory from the pass to the cut is very normal for them. I'm hoping AB starts soon (while Pat's out) and that James can play a pure SG position without bringing the ball up. He's much more efficient when he's not bringing the ball up. When he gets those couple of seconds during the shot clock to set up somewhere comfortable or free himself with a pick or two, he's a much better player. AB seems to get him the ball more quickly than anyone, though Chandler has done a decent job when he's facilitated. Hopefully the injury bug stops soon. We need a healthy season for a change.
So the arguments against Lin starting (not enough shots to go around the starting lineup, doesn't play enough defense) suddenly don't apply to Brooks. We're talking about a point guard who's a bonafide chucker and makes Lin look like Gary Payton. So now the argument turns into Lin doesn't bring the ball up fast enough to give it to Harden??? This is a guy who pushes the pace faster than anyone on the team. The doubters get more ridiculous by the day.
Hate to tell you bro but AB isn't ever starting over lin anymore than lin is going to start over bev. Pretty delusional to think otherwise
