ClutchFans Game Thread: Grizzlies @ Rockets 12/26/2013

Brutal second quarter. When the jump shot isn't falling the fundamental falls shine through. We can't get an easy look, defensive fundamentals, boxing out...all goes to ****.

First 5 possessions to start the second half must go into Dwight on the block. Have faith he can score well enough to draw a double so we get some open looks.

Not boxing out is how a D-League guy who is FIGHTING for a NBA roster spot, can make hustle plays and spark a run which Johnson did with putbacks etc.

It is up to the coaching staff to change this trend during the half.

 

got get back to what we were doing in the first.
parsons and lin need to get it going. no excuse for howard getting 3 shots in a half. give him the damn ball

 

I wonder what the difference is between Z-Bo posting up, making a move and getting a foul.
And Dwight posting up, making a move and no foul call.

I'd love to get an explanation of it.

And if a 7'2 body can be thrown that far and as easily as Dwight did to Kosta... He must really be Superman with his strength... At least use some common sense on occasions refs.

 

Relax....Rox is down by 8 points. They are 2/14 from downtown so my bet is that percentage will go up in the 2nd half.

ashes not a scrub been balling in dleague with canaan and vipers got signed 2 weeks ago with grizzlies, he's very active on brh sides good energy type guy, watched him play online a few games when I had time

I don't think Lin is having a terrible game like many. But there was just a sequence of turnovers and a missed three that cost us our lead. I'm sure he will play better the rest of the game out, in fact, I'm sure the Rockets will adjust in the second half of this game.

 

Harden keep drawing fouls.

Lin stop shooting and keep driving and hopefully earn some "superstar call"

Dwight wasted all energy in excitement yesterday and he's done.

Parson 's energy was used up in that alley.

Jones, usually the quiet one conserved his strength well for this match.

 

My god Calvin Murphy talks about the rockets like the team is his own child.

 

James Johnson was nearly a lottery pick. Drafted #16. He was OUR #2 overall pick in this years D-League draft and was BALLING! Some guys take longer to develop or thrive in a certain system. Johnson would have been a PERFECT backup to Chandler Parsons & Terrence Jones. Tough; athletic; two-way player that can hit a corner three. SMH damn John Hollinger.

 

That's why I didn't get too high on last nights game against the Spurs. Rox still have the same issues thats lead to their mediocre play this month. Their lack of effort and execution against lesser teams is a joke at this point.

The Rockets have simply been outrebounded, given up too many second chances. The defensive rebound issue popping up again.

 

wow, Chuck giving the rockets an excuse? **** that...

 

Calvin Murphy for coach! He should lite a fire with our guys!

 

You wanna know why? He and Lionell Hollins are buddy-buddy and Chuck was mad as hell when Hollins was fired. So now Chuck is blatantly anti-Grizzlies, lol.
