Lin's defence on Parker tonight was great

Yes, because the only factor that matters when evaluating a coach is which one of his two average point guards he decides to put in the starting lineup.

What if the Rockets go .500% without Beverly, should McHale be fired? What if Lin slumps with Beverly out?

Beverly could easily be out another month and many things can and will change in that time.

This was Lin's best performance of the season. He dogged Parker every stinking possession.

I really like how they went with Lin at the top early, letting him push the ball and run the show early and then closing with Big Daddy Harden. I think that's the way it should be. I think that's a recipe for balance in the backcourt that allows both Harden and Lin to co-exist and thrive. Lin early, pushing and driving and then Harden late just ripping defenses apart that have battled for 40 minutes and have lost a lot of juice in their legs.

Let's say you give Bev 5 weeks to recover (1/25) so that's 16 games. Out of all those games 1xPortland and 2xOKC are the only real hard games till then. I don't really see McHale sticking with Lin unless Beverley has other issues or the team goes undefeated. Obviously, I feel McHale might make Bev start from the bench for a few games before sliding back.....his injury is not something minor.

I would have liked to seen Dmo during the period when the Spurs were coming back on us while Howard was out. At the end of the game when Mchale cleared the bench and the players were waiting to come in, I don't think I saw Dmo at the scorers table. I'm not 100% positive that was the case, but it makes you wonder.

I hope you mean to bolster the bench. You obviously didn't watch the GS v. LAC game tonight. The few minutes that Douglas played were horrible. Paul was making him look silly and he was clearly frustrated and lost.

Patterson was allergic to post play and rebounding. Morris is missed I give you that because he would be perfect behind Parsons with his shooting.Garcia is just thrash right now.Guy has no real value whatsoever on the court.

So glad that Lin didn't fall for Parker's pump fakes or jump into him for a foul call. He was really disciplined tonight.

Bev is a more dogged and aggressive defender when his man has the ball. He swipes and pesters more. But he loses focus the second his man is off the ball too- even worse than Lin. That's why Bev's man is often left wide open for shots.

If Lin sucks, then no Mchale shouldn't be fired for putting Bev back in the starting line up. But if Lin's numbers are somewhat like they were before he got injured or better, and Mchale then puts Bev back as the starter then I think you really have to question his decision making.

I'm kind of just following around when I say he should be fired. Even though I don't like some of his decisions I think he should have a chance to grow. If he really does make Bev the starter when he comes back, I hope he isn't the coach here next year.

I disagree, I think you have to have a chance to play consistent minutes before you can be judged as hot garbage.

If the Rockets go 13-3 in the next 16 games, Lin will keep his starting gig. The Rockets have done well enough so far, but really haven't hit their stride. A 13-3 run would put them 32-14 and on pace for a top 2-3 seed.

That's funny, I was just quoting what Harden has said. I guess he doesn't know what he is talking about either, but you do.

The final decision on McHales tenure in the end rests with Les and he seems to be big fan of Kevin so unless we don't make the playoffs his tenure seems safe for the foreseeable future.

I am actually starting to wonder if T.Jones is a star in the making or at least a Parsons type steal. His "powers" are growing.

It helps that the PF position is pretty weak on the team so he has a solid grip on the starter spot. That does wonders for your confidence and numbers knowing that. Especially when #2 is what...Dmo? Yea I'd ball too. Even if Dmo was to ever outplay Jones and grab the starters spot, you know you can grab it right back anytime.
