Beverley is on a super team friendly contract, but more importantly is a great defender. The only consistent perimeter defender we have and we need him! Why some of you want to trade him is mind-boggling. One of the mysteries of CF I'll never understand.

Beverley is a near min contract player on a near min contract. It's not that "super team friendly".

Didn't expect to see klutchqt, joradnn, spiegel, ftw rockets ftw, reekohtown, in here talking down tonight.

As a rockets fan it's cool to get frustrated with a player on a blog when we take a L, but when that player has a good game they're quiet, can't give that player credit for a TEAM win but claim to be a ROCKETS FAN, but if Lin played bad and we lost they would be in here commenting smh

Good game from parsons in 1st half, Howard 20 rebounds, harden CLUTCH IN THE 4th, Lin solid game and good defense GO, happy we got a win on Christmas on ESPN like last year against the bulls, go rockets !!!!!!!

^^^ I lost respect for any of these guys I named, yeah Lin fans be deep on CF but I keep it real, these guys I feel would hope Lin did bad even if it takes the rockets not winning the game, giving Lin props is something they just can't do, but talking down & hating is something they're quick to do. GO ROCKETS !! Harden was clutch tonight !

    1) Asik and Beverley are our 2 biggest trade chips. Aaron brooks isn't going to net us much.

    2) we need a solid PF more than anything right now.

One dimension. Has too many 1 assist, 2 of 9 shooting games; bogs down the offense, and is oftentimes one of the worst +/- guys.

This game pretty much summed up why many fans were outraged Jeremy wasn't starting but instead a rookie PG with no Offense, Can't get assists, and had inconsistent D was starting over Lin.

Lin started all 82 games last year. Anyone who isn't a Lin hater knows he can start next to Harden and James can get his points. The fallacy that Lin somehow hurts Harden's game was just laughable to anyone who doesn't hate Lin. Jeremy only takes 9-11 spg his whole career. Jeremy is a pass first PG. He avg less than 10 shots this year and was just slightly over 10 shots last year.

Jeremy last year led the Rockets in apg starting next to Harden.

As we saw today a PG can get assists playing with Harden. This shows once again the idiotic notion we don't need a PG who can run an offense. Bev is good enough because Harden can run the offense. James is a SG and with Lin playing PG, harden can be more effective as a player. He was amazing last year with Lin being his backcourt mate.

Also as we saw tonight. Lin shut down Tony Parker. Lin's D is slightly worst than Bev against some PG but Lin is not a bad defender. Lin is OK and sometimes he has an amazing defensive game like tonight. Bev has more amazing defensive games than Lin but Bev is also more inconsistent on D. He gets destroyed a lot by scrub PG while lin's defense is more consistent. OK defense.

Scoring there is no debate here. Lin can score at an efficient rate. Tonight he only took 10 shots but made half of them. It's pretty much Lin a guy who takes very little shots but can score.

Bev is not even in the same league as Lin. The only silver lining to the injury is McHale is forced to start Lin and let him play starter minutes.

    This deserves another repost.

LOH have become far more annoying than LOF ever were.

Lin is a good player, it is understandable that he has lots of fans, and true Rockets fans should welcome new blood even if they are overzealous or misguided. The so-called fans who hate on Lin are just despicable trolls who ruin this forum.

Then again, we still have Barkley fans here. The biggest fraud and loser in Rockets history, yet he still has fans and supporters. I've given up on trying to understand this place.

Parker is an all nba player, all star, finals MVP, top 10 candidate for league MVP many years... Holding Tony Parker to 3-11 is pretty amazing. He is arguably the best PG in the league. I personally vote CP3 but Parker is right there with him. Only people to disagree are haters.

actually i think Beverly is a good component on this team. i just don't think he is a starting PG and i don't think he should be playing 32 mpg when you have lin.

this whole mentality of bringing in a "defensive stopper" is instantly going to make Houston a better defensive team is ridiculous. it's not the player that is going to make Houston better defensively, it's the team and the schemes. if Beverly is such a lockdown defender, then when we need to make that one stop, bring him in for defensive purposes. to play him 40 min to be a defensive stopper takes away what the rockets can do.

bottom line, the object of the game is to score more points than your opponent. you can win 2-1 or you can win 200-199. great defense or bad defense does not matter. people say that defense wins championships. that's really hogwash. if your shot is falling, no great defensive team is going to stop you.

i watched the hawks-heat game. it wasn't defense that won the game for the heat. it was offense (LeBron). wade didn't play but the heat could not stop the hawks. LeBron and the heat made more plays. that's the bottom line. can you impose your will and make more plays than your opponents?

so you came on here and gave a backhanded compliment to lin while make sure everyone knows how "CLUTCH" harden was... perhaps you should stay classy.

Someone can double check, but with both Bev and Lin starting together the team has gone 4-0. Of course very small sample.....

lin shouldn't be starting on this team. he def is a starter though. he should come off the bench and get 30 minutes (basically a ginobli role).

NOBODY can run the offense in the second unit if lin starts. that's why lin comes off the bench. having beverley as a starter is off set by harden and parsons being ball handlers.
