Ironically, 'Jeezus' is exactly why Lin helped Ginobili up. Luke 6:29.

People on CF definitely overrate Bev's D. He's a great rebounder and he is a good defender, but I don't think he really initiates the offense all that well. Lin is definitely turnover prone, and inconsistent on D, though he not a sieve that people make him out to be. We're just gonna have to see these next 4-6 weeks how Lin fares playing as a starter and judge from there. People have to understand that Lin went from Linsanity, to starter, to having to adjust playing with Harden, to being a spark off the bench, to now getting back in the groove of things being a starter again AND adjusting to playing with Dwight. That's why I don't get how the conversation always shifts to Lin. Whether it's bashing or overhyping him, we all need to take a step back and look at everything objectively.

The Yao connection got Battier, Brooks and Bonzi Wells Chinese endorsement deals. Along with Parsons.

Nice to see the board alive and kicking -- the usual post game shenanigans. : ) What a great win. 28 assists. I love that.

Again, we scored 40 twice with Bev starting and teams dont consistently score 40 so this isnt going to happen all the time with Lin starting. The offense does not drop off significantly with Bev. The second unit does without Lin. Should Lin start? In most cases, yes. But with the current lineup as it is, he is needed to be the leader of the second unit. And guess what? When Bev comes back, that is what is going to happen. So get ready to start crying again in about a month when Lin is coming off the bench again. It is not a case of who is better. It is just a case of what weakens us the least.

True. I wonder if there is any truth to the Beverley for Jameer Nelson trade rumours today from Marc Stein and others.

Morey forced McHale's hand last year by trading Douglas. I think he can see the writing on the wall that Bev is not starter level and trade him when he's still high.

If he does this trade, he'll have to remember to give a new script to Worrel, Clyde and Bull otherwise its going to sound awkward.

Statistical phenomenon. Garcia played 14 minutes and did not attempt a shot.

Tinman and Spiegel should get a room ;).

I hope after Jeremy's performance tonight Morey's phone will be ringing off the hook.

That's easy to say in theory.

The fact is, Bev is out 4-6 weeks. What if the next 4-6 weeks Lin plays well and the Rockets win? Does McHale go back to Bev or stick with Lin? Whatever works, works. Let's see how this all shakes out.

True. I am obviously at fault in this but when people call Lin "our best playmaker" I blackout and go on rants. Might just need to get off the board for the night.........

For me Parsons got us the win. His first quarter and the first half really helped us get the momentum and we really never looked back despite them making a surge here and there.

Did I just wake up from a coma and missed two seasons of Beverley paying his dues?

I'm not all against Jeremy coming off the bench as long as he's used the right way, but your reasoning is FLAWED.

Tinman, Spiegel and thesonofsam could have a threesome.

It's just the Lin needs to anchor the second unit is kinda dumb. Lin definitely helps there but Bev is gone for a month or more. It's either the Rockets are doomed for the next month because McHale has to start Lin leavin nobody to anchor or spark the bench, or, the Rockets are going to be ok. Who knows, but from what I've seen, the Rockets are ok offensively, even with Lin not there coming off the bench. I think we can all agree that Dwight has been playing a lot better which helps, it's just can this team play good d collectively (Dallas) and rebound the ball going forward. Our offense is ok whether it's Bev or Lin considering there's the big 3 of Parsons, Harden and Howard. It's just can they cut back on the turnovers and d up for us to really consider them contenders.

Good game tonight. The starters were beast, but the bench was hurting. AB is great when his shots go in, not so much when he's not hitting them well. Unfortunately his sub-par defense and lack of all around facilitation skills really shows in games like tonight.

I still think Lin/Bev should be situational. Against mediocre defenses you only really need Harden/Parsons/Dwight for offense. Lin running the 2nd unit makes sense in those cases. Against top tier defenses like Indiana or the Spurs, you really gain some advantage with Lin playing more with the starting unit as defenses can't cheat or play off of Lin. Especially if their bench units aren't especially potent.

Though this would all be solved if you got a back up PG with decent facilitation and defense (someone along the lines of DJ Augustin for example).

Still, we got who we got so hopefully McHale can make the best of our roster.

    Off to the next game!
