Cool..I'm pretty beat, or else I might have picked up on it. Several things about this thread have caught me off guard, and i thought this was just another one...I was surprised I was even postin it, although I had been thinking about Jeff's comments for a while; I think, for some odd reason, the Sex and Sin Are Bck in Iraq, or whatever, is what made me really consider asking for advice in here. Then I was amazed at the response, both in terms of volume and maturity. I was intially afraid that this would turn into a high school locker room discussion, or at least the mythical version of what that is like, but most people seemed to get that this wasn't about this woman's 'great ass', chest, etc..or whatever...it was a serious question of personal integrity with the additional sexual stimulation. I was surprised at how much of myself I exposed in here...I usually keep things in here on an intellectual/political/ethical/sports basis, but I opened up, and not just when intoxicated...and I'm glad. I was surprised at how much some people, particularly Smeggy, actually had an effect on my decision to call her. I was surprised how supportive people were, and not just in a " I'd tap that!' kind of way... So I thought this was just another surprise. I would like to say that I really hope I'm not just' the guy who bagged Tera Patrick/Kobe Tai/Kira Kener' after this...Seriously, that would be a dissapointment. I hope that this thread is remembered at least as much for a guy with a moral dilema, and the people who honestly helped him work it through...That is what I think is remarkable about this thread.
It wouldnt be like you were the first person to nail any of them but I understand what you mean. I have to admit that I will forever remember you because of this thread but I dont think it will define you as a person.
MackyB-- In all seriousness, I've got to commend you for having a moral dilemma in the first place. Too many guys would go overboard trying to sleep with her, and too many guys would treat her simply like a piece of ass or a piece of trash, rather than as a human being. (See the thread about Houston strip clubs for a few rants from myself and a few others for an example.) My hat's off to you for actually being a man about this, and even for having hang-ups about it, and especially for coming to grips with your hang-ups and tackling them head-on. But mostly, my hat's off to you for treating her like a human being. Peace to you, man.
I still say she is the equivalant of a hooker, and if you don't mind having sex with a hooker, then fine. Heck, go to Amsterdam, plenty of much more beautiful hookers there and all behind sliding glass windows....ah window shopping. Kind of reminds me of that bachelor party we had in Amsterdam...but I digress.... Hookers = Bad Stay away. DD
Well as for me,I don't think banging a hot pornstar is the first thing that will come to mind when I get to think back at this thread but more an respectful, true humain being. U bypassed the apprehension u had about her,and most of all u dared to open urself on a this bbs, which isn't an easy thing to do as u could consider guyes(coz this is a mostly guys bbs!) not taking u seriously. Hat's down to u my friend,as allways... ALA
Most people haven't bothered to try to convince you of the possible moral destructiveness of this relationship -- and I won't either because I think we'd need to backtrack too far and would never agree on common axioms anyway. Anyway, I do think it is destructive for you and for her, but I'll leave you to your own devices in that regard. But, I am concerned at least for a health risk I foresee here. Someone mentioned that p*rn stars get tested often. But, testing isn't preventative. And, it's possible for some diseases (like HIV) to go for many months undetectable but infectious. And, her circle is obviously not confined to you and her co-workers. If she needs a special friend in Toronto, she probably has them also in New York, Seattle, Miami, Chicago and every other town she has to visit on a regular basis. Did she ask you for an AIDS test? If she didn't, how likely is it she's asked any other friends for one? And these other friends are the sort of people who would have sex with p*rn stars and are probably more promiscious and more likely to be infected. Condoms are good and all, but they are much better at preventing pregnancy than disease. And they're only really good for one (rather mundane) sex act. Gonorrhea can be transmitted by simple genital contact and a condom would not protect you (and, incidentally, it often does not show symptoms in women). Anyway, be careful; I don't want to read your 400 response AIDS thread later.
Is it just me or does anyone else see the irony in saying that this is a MORAL dilemma? What is moral about having a strictly physical relationship with a woman that has lots of sex for money for a living (read w****). I am not judging MacBeth and I dont have a problem with what he does, not that my opinion matters. I just think that it is funny that some people have made this out to be such a moral issue. He isnt Ghandi because he banged a pornstar.
It's her job. It's what she does for a living. Most of what we talk about at this BBS are NBA players making a living, and a good one, with their bodies. And, personally, I don't have a problem with that. Her career will be short, just like NBA players, because what gives her the physical attraction to do what she does will only last so long. We can make all the vicarious moral judgements we want, but ultimately the choice is hers to make. It's the personal freedom to make her living as she chooses, as long as it doesn't harm someone else. I don't see how it does. Just my 2 cents.
Deckard is right, She has the right to be a hooker, why should we care. If she chooses to be a hooker so be it. DD
He doesn't have to. IMO, there is no difference between a hooker and a p*rn star. They both sell their bodies (sexually) for money.
technically...there is a difference. hookers sell themselves to the men they are having sex with.. pron stars get paid by the producers to have sex with people.. the difference is slight, but it exists none the less..
I think comparing an NBA players job to a pornstar is ridiculous. I'm not saying what she does is illegal because it is her right to screw as many people as she chooses and make money doing it. I dont think the p*rn business is a highly moral business though. I wouldnt want anyone in my family to do it but that wasnt the reason for my post. I just thought it was ironic that everyone was making a big deal out of this moral dilemma that involved casual sex with a w****. And before everyone slaughters me for calling her a w****, which she is, here is the definition of w****: w**** (hôr, hr) n. A prostitute. A person considered sexually promiscuous. A person considered as having compromised principles for personal gain. I think she fits all of the criteria.
the way I understood MacB, the moral conflict came of him being conflicted between wanting to see a hot woman that has a profession that he has moral problems with. I don't think anyone here equated the adult film business with being moral.
Re: all this "w****" business... Can anyone tell me why we don't have an equally contemptuous word for the men who pay for sex? "John" doesn't cut it. w**** is a hateful word. I'd love to understand why society reserves its contempt for the woman in these situations and gives the men a by.
