Console Wars Thread! PS4 vs. Xbox One vs. Wii U Fight!

The PS3's xmb is the best OS imo. Simple and easy to use. My favorite 360 was the original blades. Every time the 360 upgraded their OS, they added more ads and made it more complicated and harder for me to find what I want. I don't play it very often, but when I do I get frustrated trying to figure out how to start a game.

Anyone who thinks they have a clue how many of either console have been "sold" are kidding themselves. The only people with that information are Sony and Microsoft, and neither have shared recent sales numbers. One thing is for certain, both consoles are going to sell 3 million units through the holidays (early January, gift card usage).

Also, remember that the PS4 and the Xbox One are being sold in a vastly different number of markets. Microsoft has specifically held off the sale of Xbox One in regions due to not having proper voice support for Kinect. The Xbox One is only in 13 markets, while the PS4 is in 48.

 

Anyone know where I can get a new PS4 here in Houston? None of the big box retailers are giving information on their quantity in stores (at least not online)

 

Call them, I know you may not want to hear that but that's it. Start with best buy and a gamestop or two. (I hate Wal-Mart)

 

It would help if the US wasn't limited to just NPD numbers for video game sales. Europe and Japan generally get weekly sales numbers IIRC (sometimes by different trackers), but we just get monthly numbers...and even those numbers are sometimes limited (we never did get a hard PS4 number for November IIRC). Well...the public numbers anyway.

Insecurity like starting a thread for "console wars"? Generally I find that the people who like to throw around the "fanboy" label are generally fanboys. Take of that what you will, champ.

 

The PS4 login system is beyond dumb. Also not being able to play with a friend on PS4 and Xbox One FIFA is super frustrating. Realistically neither system really had great launch day games going to just wait it out and see which system comes out with better games

 

I am a PC gamer, so I'll get that out of the way. I've had consoles like many of you since Atari, Commodore, NES, etc. My "current gen" console was the XBox 360. I enjoyed it. I decided to go and get a PS4 this time. I hate not being able to play if I can't get online.

I just have NBA2K14, and the console freaked out for whatever reason and wouldn't connect to allow me to play MyCareer. After F'ing with it for about an hour, I eventually just reset the PS4 to factory settings and reconfig'd it, and was able to play.

Next-Gen...pfth. If the 2K team had made the PC version the "next-gen" version of the game, I probably wouldn't have bought a console.

 

That kept me from buying 2K. F' them till they get rid of the out dated graphics.

 

How do y'all control it on PC? I had been considering getting it for the longest time (I'm not now, obviously), but the idea of playing 2K on a keyboard/mouse sounds awful to me.

 

Controller. I use 360 controller.

Best thing about PC besides the systems being superior....are sales on Steam direct2play, Greenmangaming, humble bundle etc.

I'll eventually get a console, think. Nothing jumps out to me though making me want one so I'll stick with my PS3 when I want to play GTAV.

 

Yep, I just plug the X360 controller in. They even sell a wireless thing if you want to do that.

 

That is just hating change. There are more ads, but I definitely prefer the 360 interface (any of the ones they've had) over what the PS3 has.

 

What is this, 1995? 360 controllers have been compatible with most cross-platform games on PC since like 1985, brah. Hell, Steam's Big Picture mode was even created with controller usage in mind (AKA SteamOS).

With PC, you can use almost any peripherals you want that requires USB to play games just like any console.
