When you rely HEAVILY on two vet minimum guys to contribute consistently on a night in/night out basis, you're gonna have a bad time. Garcia and Casspi have been consistently inconsistent all year, and it is causing our team to falter at the most inopportune times. Garcia thrived last season when he wasn't being called upon to do too much in a game (outside of guarding Durant). However, given our lack of depth and the injury bug, he's been thrust into a role in which he doesn't seem comfortable. That needs to change if he's going to get back to being effective. As far as Casspi goes, he just needs to be told to stop dominating the ball so much when he gets it in his hands. His job is to either shoot, or pass. If he has an open lane to the basket, I don't mind him driving, but it's when he forces the issue that bad things happen. He doesn't have the decision-making to be a ball-dominant player, and it's hurting the team when he's on the floor. Either way, these 2 guys are being called upon to do WAY too much right now, and until that changes, I see the team's performance being as up and down as their's.

Rewatched the game. TJones is the problem. His defense is terrible for a PF. If he's not scoring above 20 pts, then it's not counteracting the guy he's defending scoring 30 pts.

^^ Ditto. Both Casspi and Garcia have been playing outside of themselves a lot lately (generally to less than positive results).

Agree with most of this but DMo would still have fouled out in 5 minutes or less.

I'm not being defensive, just refuting the inaccurate statement you made.

It seems like everyone is blaming Lin only because THAT IS ALL YOU CARE ABOUT.

Read back thru the thread, even the posts that dont mention Lin, and tell me that every single player on this team that played didnt get blasted for their play.

This is why I dont take most of yalls accusations of trolling seriously....

LOL. Okay, you're right. Everyone could stand to work on defensive effort except for Lin.

Right, Calderon got screen after screen after screen and he didn't "blow by" Lin. Lin's defensive issue was overhelping and having Calderon open for 3 a few times, not being blown by. He didn't stand by idly. Bad decisions and out of position or not, he put in effort on D.

There's no LOL. You were wrong. You could point out different issues with Lin's defense but that standing around idly didn't happen. And except for Lin? Where did anyone say that?

I was at the game and watched him stand idly by while Jose went right by him on one possession. Multiple other people seated in my section pointed it out as well, so I guess we are all wrong. *shrug* I'm not interested in arguing with you though, so you can have it. ;)

Exactly as bows said. You made a comment how Calderon blew by Lin with Lin "standing idly by." I refuted that as it didn't happen in the game and all of sudden you infer that I was saying that Lin doesn't have to work on defensive effort.

I'm confused, I must have missed something.

Yeah, ONE possession where Jose gets by him defines him as a bad defender. And btw. Jose gets by a lot of defenders because he's a top 3-point shooter, and they have to close out on him.

    6. Put ball 80% of the time in Lin's hands: the thing is McHale does not trust Lin, and Lin is not on Rockets' long term plan.
