Sometimes shots don't fall but leaving your man wide open time and time again is inexcusable and THAT is why we lost - Lin is putrid at defensive discipline - and it is KILLING this team against teams that can shoot.

The team overall had a very efficient shooting 54%. What the team needed tonight was defense and ball security. You seem to think Harden has a history of "taking over the 4th" which he does not.

Brooks isn't a defensive stopper like Beverley, that hurt us for sure. He jack up shots when we didn't need him to jack up shots.. It's too much like the KNicks man.. no team concept. Defense? Jay Crowder, hitting 3s. Nowitzki was unstoppable.

You act like shutting down Dirk is simply a matter of saying "Don't switch on the Dirk pick-and-pop." Dirk, if hot, will get his either way; he's an all time great scorer. Our problems were elsewhere.

So 60% shooting and 20 points on 10 shots is a bad game?

His game was about average when you consider his TOs and overhelping on D but by no means a "bad" game.

    No Beverly
    no Harden
    no backup Center

    is to much

Howard and Parsons played a great game
    but they are alone

Let Dragic go was a terrible mistake
Lin is not even close to Dragic level

    Casspi play everytime worst.

After watching the game i think it can really be narrowed down to the following 3 points:

    1) Missing Bench.
We really needed to let the starters rest up more and still maintain the point differential. Really missed having a healthy Asik.
Garcia 1/6 in 34 mins& Casspi 1/2 in 18mins have not exactly been showing up this game.

    2) Our defensive schemes. Its a season long thing, the help defense and especially communication is either poor or badly executed or we need a new defensive mindset.
Its the same issue last season but we made up for it then with transition offense.
With DHoward now we run more postups than we ever did. The resulting point differential and pace allows opponents more time to setup D against us.

    3) Injuries
Nuff said. People are coming in and going out. Its like a turnstile on our roster and i'm not going to be expecting much consistency til we have everyone back.

Its not a loss that's too painful to watch TBH. I thought it would have been worse and we would have been lucky to walk away with a win.

    Onward to the next game!

It was an overall bad team effort> Even CHander parsons had lapses of defensive struggles. Dwight was the A+ player out there along with NOwitzki.

Exactly, D-Mo should've gotten some playing time with his size.

Great game, lots of fun to watch. We are missing some key players, Lin's rusty, and the Mavs were determined to break their losing streak so this was a tough battle. DH continuing to show strong leadership, we're on a good path.

Hilarious to see all the wailing and gnashing of teeth in the game thread.

This game was lost in the 1st 6 minutes of the 4th quarter on a Mavs 15-1 run. McHale waited TOO LONG to call timeout, then when they came out of the timeout, McHale didn't make any substitutions, they played the same way.

Letting Dragic go was only a mistake after we traded for Harden. Before that, it was a wise move.

If we all took a Viagra, at least we'd be UP for games like this, & no one except Jason Collins would front Dwight in the post.
