We should keep mobley and use him as a back up, get rid of norris, he's a reject from the cba. there arent ALOT of good back up guards in the western conference that are left handed, and cuttino will be a perfect fit. Steve rests and have cuttino off the bench is perfect!

    This is assuming that :

    1. ANYBODY wants Moochie in a trade (hint: no)

    or..

    2. Les will cut him and eat the salary (also no)

    and..

    3. Cuttino will accept the 6th man role (unlikely, but there is a small chance)

Slow down with the posting, man.... quality > quantity.

Having cat coming off the bench is best for him and the team BUT that's a BIG blow to anyone's pride/ego. unless he can face the fact of going back to the bench after starting for 2-3 years, then fine that's dandy. but unless we bring in mcgrady or kobe, cat will still think he's worthy of starting

I think Mobley is very underrated. Anyone who you can hand the ball to when you desperatly need two points is definitely worth keeping. Besides that, he plays well with Steve and seems to be quite ok with spotting up and taking three's. In fact he plays much better having someone create a shot for him than Steve does, which is why I would rather Cat play the sg than Steve. Another plus is that while not as athletic as other 2's, he can jump through a keyhole and get to the basket on anyone. He is also an above average defender. On the ball he has the quickness to stay with anyone. It is just off the ball that he can not play the passing lanes because he isn't long enough. I don't think it was his fault that the ball was in his hands with the shot clock winding down alone on an iso but rather this is poor coaching or probably bad decision making on the part of his teammates. Plus when you've got Moochie, T-Mo, EG, Cato, and Cat all on the floor at the same time and no motion offense, what other choice do you have?

Would you like to join our pro-Rudy clique? We're a little low on members right now.

Great post. I also don't see Mobley "accepting" a return role to the bench. But he's definitely be on helluva sixth man if he did welcome it.

BTW -- would Stevie be the equivalent of bringing in a great SG? Meaning, if the coaches/front office came to Mobes' and said "Hey,we want to move #3 to the SG position and pickup more of a distributing 'one.' With this move, you'd have to come off the bench. We think this helps the TEAM significantly..." Somthing along those lines, do you think he'd feel "less worthy" of starting? He can't possibly think he's a better player than Franics....can he?

We have to keep Mobley. He's a great defender for this team and hopefully he'll defer a lot of shot to Yao. Whjat we need is consistent third scorer to complement yao and steve. Mobes can do that and he loves this team and I am sure we'll see much improvment. If we trade him I can tell you that we'll regret it.
