Tough has nothing to do with it.

A broken bone is a broken bone, and no amount of wishing or toughness will make it go faster.

And as a Point Guard expected to handle the ball and shoot from the perimeter, the impact on his form will be FAR more substantial than for a big that just needs to grab the ball and pop it in from 4 feet away.

 

Yes, it is real. But as Speigel is just now finding out....mods are sick of hearing about it and dont want to see anyone bringing up what is said there as a valid topic of conversation.

Yowch. 4-6 weeks takes us to basically the All Star Break. And then he'll need a couple weeks to get back up to speed.

Tough road for the kid.

That's weird. Has harden started next to him during those games? I'm just going off of what I saw first hand and how his confidence improved since he's been coming off of the bench.

 

False. Look at what Anthony Davis just did. A fractured right hand and he missed 7 games? That's not normal. Grit, toughness, whatever you want to call it, contributed majorly to him coming back so soon.

 

Anthony Davis' fracture was a non-displaced fracture. The bone didn't actually move. And he's ambidextrous, IE he can finish with EITHER hand.

And as a big he's not shooting the ball from further than 4 feet from the basket and isn't required to dribble extensively or handle the ball for extended periods.

A PG has to dribble extensively, pass and shoot from distance. It's nowhere near the same.

AD can just stick a ton of pads on one hand and still be somewhat effective. Beverley isn't anywhere near in the same boat.

 

My brother-in-law had his 4th metacarpal fracture something similar to:



Took him two months+ to recover. Obviously, he is not a Professional Basketball Player!

Eh, the game came back after 7 games. I don't care what you say, that takes a ton of grit, non-displaced fracture or not. Also, thanks for the ambidextrous definition, doc…because, you know, for a second there, I didn't know what it meant.

 

4-6 weeks? Wow.
