They didn't go to him enough. When something is working you keep milking it, our backcourt just dribbled the air out of the ball tonight which led to ill-advised chucking. I understand you have to try and get Harden going, especially with a short rotation but the guy was just plain awful tonight. Sooner or later you have to pull the plug and go back to something that was working more than 50% of the time.
It's not going to happen with this kind of support system around him. Maybe McHale isn't a bad coach, but he's the wrong coach for Harden at this stage of his career. It's all about accountability and everyone should be held to the same standard. Aside from Paul George already being mature beyond his age, he's got an incredible support system around him to help him should he stray from the path, which starts from the FO: Larry Bird (Yeah you don't f*** around when the Legend is your boss) Frank Vogel David West Roy Hibbert Danny Granger
silly question. attitude, effort will limited Harden to be a great player. That's why I root for JLin.
I think that's conventional basketball logic, but I don't think that's Houston's approach. To me they have made a deliberate decision to live or die by James Harden drives & the 3 ball. It's all or nothing. As bad as this game looked(and it was one of several truly BAD Rockets games this season), I think the management believes across a 7 game series, the shooting will balance out in the Rockets favor because that's how stats work.... I'm skeptical though - this Pacers team or another defensive team like them(Heat) matches up really well defensively. If your talking about contending for a title, you HAVE to think about how this roster competes against the elites in a 7 game series. Hopefully the eventual Asik trade lands them someone who helps us specifically match up with the elite teams(an ace defensive stopper would be ideal).
So you'd pick Lin with Harden and George on the market? At least someone is showing what this thread is really about.
when was the last time LEbron had a bad game. Superstars rarely get bad games. That is if Harden is the best SG in the NBA has "Experts" claim. Harden as i have reiterated needs to improve. Once he thinks he's ripe, he's rotten. He needs to stay hungry and improve at every facet of the game to help the Rockets. That's what he's paid big bucks for.
Long and elite defenders have always given Harden problems. Paul George, Iguodala... put a good defender with serious length and lateral movement on Harden and he's going to struggle. He's just going to need more support in terms of play making when he gets those match ups.
You a troll? Clearly he said he preferred Lin's attitude/work ethic to Harden, and in no way said he would pick Lin over George.
Always the excuse for a bad game. Hungover, drunk, at the club, doing this, doing that. Just go with the foot injury/excuse. That's partially valid...I guess.
I don't know if this is a joke but SOME people are serious about this. I hate this excuse that he was hung over or whatever and people have NO proof of this. So Harden even realized that PG gives him problems...so why would he go out and party the night before? Why does everytime he has a bad game it can't be just him having a bad game and not "He was out at a strip club." and people say this stuff SERIOUSLY without having any proof or indication other than him not living up to their expectations.
Oh really? So why Lin? Why is he the unquestioned paragon of attitude in a thread not about him? Especial in a game in which he didn't play?
Cuz he parties a lot? Seriously, go back and watch him on pick and roll plays. His decision making was just slow. He didn't pick his spots like he normally does and had nothing going all night. Some would credit George but harden got a lot of picks and didn't execute.
LOL it's rather funny. Is there ANY other player in the league that people would say this about? People think Harden's at a strip club 3 times a day....
I was under the impression that GMs picked him as top SG. PG is behind LBJ and Durant at the 3, and if you were a man who valued D more than O, then perhaps you would argue PG to be equal to Durant, although it would indeed be hard to argue that this season. And before the playoffs last year, I would have easily picked harden over George, but after pg’s performance against the heat and LBJ compounded with his improvement and performance this season, then you’d be a damn fool to choose Harden over PG. And imo, Dwade should have been number 1 but was plagued with injuries due to age, but guess what, flash has been flash recently, and harden, as of this moment, is nowhere near flash. For ****s sake, the guy led his team to gold. Aside from Dwade and Harden, what other SG is in contention for top 5-10 player?
This will be my last response to you in this thread, but it's clear your sensitivity about JLin is very high. You didn't have to respond to his post, when he briefly mentioned Lin yet you chose to respond in a (clearly) inaccurate way.
Time to close this thread? This isn't even a discussion. Harden takes games off, PG and other superstars don't. Plus PG plays Defense. Harden is a one way player and will not be in the same discussion as PG until that changes that.
I think it might have something to do with Lin elevating his game through the summer. Still, he should have known better not to mention it when the thread is not about Lin, especially on Clutch Fans where all the "true fans" are on a serious crusade. Like I said earlier in a post, ignore the stupid Lin posters and ignore JayGoogle with his hard on for Harden and Clutch Fans will become bearable again.
