2nd round exit is obviously your opinion with an agenda attached to it.

Asik "not giving it his all" >>> Greg Smith at center

I just don't know if asik is going to go out there and play hard. Who knows how a lazy, unmotivated asik will be.

You mentioned the league's elite and what do they all have in common?? They play both ends of the court. Please look up how many point a game we allow? Now, look up how many point we score per game. Whats out problem??? Its DEFENSE!! So, when you have one of the best defensive centers in the league( trade demads aside, now thats in the ppast). You might as well use him. And btw, Omer has been portrayed as a disgrunteled center demanding trades which is far from the truth) I hoping after all this, Omer will have a better perspective, realize he's making millions for a job he loves, and we will see the affects...given he gets time with the second team. I dont thiink effort will be in question anymore. And i also guarantee you his teammates will gladly accept his talents with open arms. Remember guys, he's lready proven. There have been quite a lot of players come in and out throughout the years..and Omer is one of the few who has put in his time and proven himself. OP needs to wake up, and stop being so emotional...we need him, bottom line.

That's the point: We have a lot of uncertainty with Omer Asik. We don't know whether he'll be motivated and effective.

There is at least a significant chance that Asik will become motivated and effective. There is no chance that Lee and Bass will become more talented over the course of the next 6 months.

And how do you expect him to do that? Asik will need to be moved for pieces, simple as that.

Can't be having 2 bench players (Lin and Asik) getting paid 30 million next season.

    Sticking point is draft picks.

NO WAY WE'LL GET 2014 (TOP 20) DRAFT PICK FOR ASIK.

If Morey can lower his price to something like Hawes or Young and we throw in money or picks, the deal would be done.

Asik and Lin could be here for 2015 as well because many of the rebuilding teams are also cash strapped (ex. Sixers). If we are not afraid to deal in the West, then I'd look to Lakers especially if the Nash, Kobe injuries linger... but again, don't hinge it on 2014 1st rounders.

I assume what was said to Omer...

    - We tried to do what you requested in a timely manner
    - We refuse to sell low on you because even the unhappy you is worth more to us than what we are being offered
    - we'll keep our ears open...but meantime, be a pro, we love you here, play hard & get your money..that will help you get your trade

Why? The cap hit is half that, who cares what the actual cost is?

What? He's obviously pissed off but I think he'll still give all out effort for us. He would only lower his trade value by not trying his hardest. And we're happy because he's worth much more than the garbage that Boston offered us. Bass and Lee? Don't make me laugh
