Star is pushing it, he's a glue guy until he can consistently create in the halfcourt against a set D. Comparing him to Odom or Marion is premature- his handles, defense, and body aren't there (yet). Parsons sits somewhere between Richard Jefferson and Wally Sczerbiak. Parsons can't be your 3rd best player if Dwight is in your big 3.
Not a star but a very good role player like others have said. If he got traded to a team where he had to be the man you'd see he wasn't a star. Luckily for him(and us) he's not going anywhere so we won't have to worry about that
you are delusional. Lin is no way near Parson's level of importance even though Lin was paying a lot better.
Yes that has a lot to do with it also, but Parsons is the glue guy. He makes the critical plays and ties the offense together. He is the Leader of the team.
I've said it before and I'll say it again he's our Nic Batum. A great glue guy but not a go to guy. He's very valuable but he's not a star player that when the game is on the line the ball is in his hands to create and make that game winner.
Now if he can convince Ashley Sky to make a sex video and then release it for us I'll reconsider his star status....
and people were saying to let him walk if he asks for more than 8mil per year in that thread about his contract lol. I've been saying all along that he's the "third guy" the Rockets need. He's like a modern day Kukoc.
No, Jeremy is, after he saw Chandler with Ashley Sky He was like...what am I supposed to do? She's hot!
Yes. He "balling". <iframe src="//instagram.com/p/iHA3HOxYBH/embed/" width="612" height="710" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>
Is he doing any better than Chris Bosh? I personally think so. And if Bosh is apart of that Big 3, I don't see how Chandler isn't apart of one, right here in town. He's super consistent, every time I watch a game, everytime I look at the box score, it's all ways that 19 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds. And on occasion, he gets double-doubles with assists or rebounds. He is our Nicholas Batum and the good thing is that he is but a 3rd option on this team. Great team building from the front office, we are one move, one pick up, away from complete title contention. If we were to capture a player like Love or LMA (which, let's be honest is a pipe dream), we're talking finals appearances and maybe a win or two. However far we go in to the future, always remember who is that guy that started with us and was here even before the transition. Parsons is a fan favorite and his game demands respect. This isn't supposed to be a Parsons Appreciation Page or anything, but let's be real and pay our respect to a man who is consistently a great player, a great teammate, and a consummate professional. As much as I hate that my girlfriend loves him (which is probably a constant issue with the board members), I think he is someone who represents us a fan base.
Everyone is gushing about Chandler Parsons lately. He's become a sort of hot topic for a lot of commentators. All the ex coaches that are now broadcasters love him because they know how important and versatile he is. I'm really excited as to what his future holds. I really wish he will stay and retire a Rocket, but I will always follow him even if he moves on. I think he can be our third star. Honestly, Love and LMA are great but I would rather have Parsons long term and another solid player ~8 million/year type player. It sounds like getting Love/LMA would really hurt our cap room even without signing Parsons to what looks like will be a greater than 8 million/year contract. I think the third star is a perfect fit for Parsons, he is showing it right now. He is willing to defer to Howard or Harden but will take over if need be. Look a Bosh in Miami or Manu with the Spurs. All people hear about is Lebron/Wade this or Duncan/Parker that but when the situation calls, most times Bosh/Manu are the ones keeping things leveled and such.
Few people said it earlier.. He's in that no mans land where you can't really categorize him... an elite role player. In many cases better than a crappy "star". Love the Marion comparison. Of course, significantly different players but similar impacts.
huge improvement from chandler from 3 point range. he started the season terrible. hard to believe he's already at 41%
Every year of his career there have been some posters here who have said things to the effect of, "Parsons is a nice role-player but he's reached his ceiling." And yet every year he's gotten better. Why are there some people who are so convinced that CP can't be a star? He's not far from that level, just needs some incremental improvements to his game. And he's improved incrementally every year.
