Despite what people will think he is a factor and this could be a bad sign for laker fans. Torn Tendon to Keep Lakers' Fox Out For Remainder of Playoffs .c Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS (April 28) -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Rick Fox will miss the rest of the postseason with a torn tendon in his left foot that will require surgery. An MRI test done Monday before the team departed Los Angeles revealed the damage. There was no estimated timetable for Fox's return. Fox hasn't decided yet when he'll have the operation, team spokesman John Black said before the Lakers practiced in Minneapolis. Fox was hurt early in the first quarter of Sunday's 102-97 win. Fox averaged eight points in the first three games of the best-of-7 series. The first-round series is tied at two games apiece, with Game 5 at Minnesota on Tuesday night.
Who cares, I never liked Rick Fox. Guy gets me mad everytime they show his face on tv, that look he makes, like if he has a important part in the Lakers system. The only parts the Lakers have for winning is Shaq and Kobe. When the guy got punch in his face by Doug Christie, that is a moment I will never forget.
I hate to see anyone get hurt. It just hurts me less that it is Pretty Boy Fox who would bomb out anywhere else. ANYwhere else!
Thats true. I mean I hate the Lakers as much as anyone, and I absolutely positively HATE Rick Fox, but getting happy over someone's injury is damn pitiful.
Fox is an arrogant ass, like the rest of the Lakers, and their coach. I think it's sad that one could be a fan of that team. I am not "pleased" that Fox got injured, but I'm definately not down about it either.
People who don't like the Lakers should be upset, not happy, about him getting hurt. As JV mentioned he actually is important to the team for his shooting and defense. If they get knocked out of the playoffs, they now have an excuse, or at least a mitigating factor.
It's about time Phyllis had to deal with injury in a playoff series. Maybe his luck is finally running out.
I think you make a good point. I think the Lakers were primed for dethroning. While losing Fox makes it more certain, I think it was going to happen anyway. Now, they'll have a handy little built-in excuse.
I'll take it anyway I can get it. kidrock, yeah, there are a ton of people jumping up and down in this thread that Fox got injured.
I'm never happy that someone gets injured but if you think anyone but a thinly disquised Laker fan such as yourself is going to shed a tear about a dirty playing pretty boy riding the jocks of two great players getting hurt, think again.
If I couldn't make an excuse for SA when they lost Duncan after they won the title, or for the Kings last yr when Peja got hurt, then there is no way I will make an excuse for the Lakers for Rick Fox. The Lakers have benefitted more than most teams from injuries to key players in the playoffs (not including any team playing a squad with Mashburn on it).
