LOF? Anyway who cares whether Asik and Lin are being utilized correctly, the important thing is on the Rox gave them way more money then they would have gotten normally, Asik would have earned 25M in 5 years but we gave him that amount in 3, same thing with Lin.

Personally I think it's nuts Asik wants out from the team that gave him money and a chance to win rings, at the end of the day he isn't a superstar and will never be one so I dunno how much more money he thinks he can make on the open market once his salary expires. Maybe he'll look back at this later and realize he made a mistake, similar to how Pau Gasol is probably feeling right now when he was so glad the CP3 trade fell through.

It's more like a counter-shot at people taking shots at Morey for not getting a deal done: Morey only got crap offers and it's not about taking the best crap offer he on the table and run with it like so many seem to think, pundit or no pundit.

This is what I was asking from Clutch yesterday. Clutch was right on point with his information. ESPN confirms exactly what Clutch said yesterday. Thumbs up!

Im am absolutely stunned!!! So youre telling me that teams arent giving up much in return for Asik? Really? I would have thought Asik was a top 3 center in the NBA and teams would be tripping over each other trying to get him.

    Lol.

Like Ive said many times, 90% of clutchfans has severely overrated the guy...he's an incredible post defender, but he is average or below average in every other area. Sorry.

Lol some of you guys take things way too seriously! Simmons and Morey are good friends, it's a light-hearted jab.

Today is a good day! I would have been much angrier if we had pulled off a bad trade.

We couldn't even get a taker for a top 10 C. How is Morey gonna find a taker for Lin? Especially considering at this point, Lin is the only one who can create his own shot off the bench.

I'm actually looking forward to Simmons writing about it or talking about it on a podcast.

I know he's super bummed the C's didn't get him.

What if Morey was just trying to placate Asik and his intent all along was to have Asik stay? And he was just going through the motion of trade talk to make it appear as if he was trying to unload Asik while really not?

Look for Asik to magically heal and be in the line up tomorrow against the Pacers. Hopefully Lin can get healthy and come back as well so this team could be 100% going forward.

Before Asik got injured he was getting more minutes than D.Howard in some games, but he just wasn't starting. Look for that to happen more often once he comes back.

Im kinda happy that the trade didn't go thru, and shame on you guys for thinking bad about Daryl Morey lol, i knew he wasnt that incompetent. Lets hope that Asik taste some success and gets addicted to it where ever his role might be on this team. 48 minutes of rim protection is a luxury that NO TEAM IN THE NBA has expect for the Rockets once Asik comes back.

God Bless the Rockets with some chemistry, patience, and brotherly love so we can get this ship sailing how it was pictured from the beginning of the season.

Morey didn't give them the money out of charity. It is because he recognize that to get them to sign with HOU, this is the amount and deal needed. With a legitimate star, the money earned over a NBA career is much more than the 25 mil HOU offered. If they are stuck on the bench, no one will offer them a sizable contract after their 3 year not to mention the advertising deals that would have gone their way had they been starters.

What you described make him a starting caliber center in the NBA and maybe the second best center in the East.

Are you one of those ***** who likes calling people LOFs?

    1) Whether this team can be currently considered a contender is debatable.

    2) Asik & Lin get paid regardless

    3) From a career perspective, Asik probably thinks its advantageous to start and play 30-40 minutes rather than 10-15 minutes off the bench.

These concepts are not too difficult to fathom. Try and get your head around them first.

I don't get the notion that a disgruntled Asik is a cancer. Sure, the situation itself is a distraction, but Asik doesn't seem like a loud-mouthed, aggressive troublemaker prone to making foolish public statements or purposely dividing the locker room. If he's to be around for a bit longer, he'll just continue to sulk privately, make sad faces, and refuse interviews. Shouldn't affect team chemistry too much, IMO.

As for the more troubling on-court issues, as others have said, I expect Asik's agent to set him straight ASAP. If he plays well, his value rises enough for Morey to trade him for an acceptable haul. It's all up to Asik now, and he has to play ball in order to get what he wants. Win-win for the Rockets.

Anyone see that interview with Dwight from after the game last night? He seems to really believe that Omer is important to the team. I hope he continues to tell Omer how important he is.

I really like Dwight's leadership on our team, btw. He has a good head on his shoulders, much more so than the national media would ave you believe.

Why are people criticizing Asik for requesting a trade? He balled out as a starter last year and proved he's a Top 10 Center. He's already served 2 years as a backup on a contender, he deserves better. He should have been traded before the season started, Morey is clearly to blame here.

I know the fanboys on here find it difficult to assign any blame to Murray but he has his own share of faults. We were a David Stern decision away from being a treadmill team with Nene & Gasol as our "Franchise players".
