With Harden's [reckless] playing style (like trying always to get to the line from hard contact in the paint, fancy euro-stepping), there's no surprise he is constantly suffering from various ankle injuries. And that will probably be the case for his entire career... Unless, he will adjust his game a little bit. Now, obviously I'm not saying he should stop trying to get to the line. All I'm saying is that he's not the only superstar on this team anymore. I think he should delegate more offensive responsibilities to other players, mainly Dwight. We should play through Dwight much much more during the course of first three quarters of the game. Let Harden take over in 4th Q if there's a need for that. Let him be more of a playmaker / 3pt guy with an occasional drive to the basket. / END OF RANT I may be talking out of my ass here. But does anyone else agree with this?
I think you are talking out of your ass...this is his first or second ankle injury as a Rocket. Also he hasn't been going to the basket as much this year.
This is pure speculation but it seems to me many of the stars, and superstars are Euro stepping their way out of the league. Rose, Wade, Ginob and now Harden. When I see this move it makes me cringe because of the force it puts on your body. It's a very effect basketball move but is it doing your body much harm as well?
Lol what? Rose had 2 fluke injuries he wasn't even attempting the euro step. And wade and Gino are just old. The euro step has nothing to do with Hardens injury. He should wear high tops though
Please, NO Harden's 3 point shot has been off all season. If you take away the drives, you lose 70% of his game and his abilities to draw fouls.
I'm not really advocating taking away anything from his game. What I'm mainly saying is that we should look to involve Dwight and other guys more and not be as reliant on James all the time.
Then again, Rocket management played T-mac hurt all the time also, and that's why Tracy Mcgrady used to be injured for the whole year every other season.
I know he wasn't attempting the Euro step when he went down, but the impact of such a move could accumulate on the body. Like I said, its speculation so. As far as the low top vs high top, I don't think it has anything to do with it. Most ankle sprain happens in practice, so it may have to do with how they wrap it or lack thereof.
Wasn't that cause they didn't know if he was really hurt or just didn't fee like playing hard? Rox management did enough for tmac and he paid us back by....being tmac sorry to burst your bubble. As for playing thru Howard more, I agree, sit Harden and surround Howard with 3pt shooters a la Orlando.
I really don't get why Harden in any sense is going to or should play tonight. not recovered. definitely can not provide solid defense nor can he or should he try to drive into basket . It rocket really treasure his asset, this is definitely not the way
