Omer Asik is not special? There is only 1 7 footer projected to go in the first round, Joel Embiid, and he has BUST written all over him. Hasheem Thabeet 2.0.

Morey can easily find Brandon Bass in the second round, and Lee too.

One thing to keep in mind: This will be Morey's first "real" trade without Rosas and Hinkie.
I say "real" because I don't believe the White trade to have been as challenging as this one.

Wow. Embiid is nothing like Thabeet dude. A part from the fact that he is tall and black.

It's amazing to see all of this distrust in a GM who made us a near contending team all in the matter of a year. He knows what he's doing guys.

Why do you keep quoting this kid? Seems like he has just been speculating and/or regurgitating already known info.

The more I think about it, the more I think we end up with Gasol somehow.

That is kinda what I am thinking. Neither Bass nor Lee is really an asset. Both have rather big contracts and aren`t young anymore - they won`t get any better than they are right now. They are ok rotational players, nothing more.

Those are not the kind of guys/contracts Morey usually trades for - especially when he has a player like Asik that is in high demand.

So I guess the real prize here aren`t the players (which we could use - but the Celtics will be glad to part ways with them for their rebuilding process), but the pick(s). Don`t the Celtics have the Atlanta/Nets pick? That could end up a top 3 pick in the draft. If they add that pick, that deal makes sense. If not, I don`t think we know everything yet.

Lee has never really impressed me. And the games that I did see him play for the Celtics, he struggled with ball handling and point duties. I don't like this addition (or re-addition) for the Rockets, but I guess we can use him if he's here more so for defense than offense.

This has become the norm. They guy has pulled off deals no one would have imagined a couple years ago. Every deal has turned into something. Even his busts have been flipped into something else.

I am sure we will hear all the uproar after a deal goes down, but at the end of the day he has proven he can bring in the stars.

Guaranteed bust. He is not strong enough to score the way he scores in the NBA. He won't be a good rebounder either. He will be lucky to end up getting paid like Hasheem Thabeet. I take that back, he is Hassan Whiteside.

Courtney Lee, Brandon Bass and a first round pick (not 2014) will go to Houston for Omer Asik. Deal is close, reports Boston Globe.
