Same reason people couldn't think Lin and Harden couldn't, even though they are both thought to be one of the deadliest back courts in the NBA. Still can, but because of "fit", their both not in the starting lineup together. Lin and Harden still playing 30+ minutes together minus the injury bug, dont see why Rondo cant work with Harden.

He's not a bad shooter. He's a work in progress and majorly improving. I remember one playoff game rondo scored 47 points and was literally on fire from 3 pt land. There has been more then one occasion of this. He's improved but he's a pass first guard which is what rockets need.

I thought we needed a 3 and D guard next to Harden? Our offense is not the problem....

You don't need offense from a player when he's creating offense for other players. Plus he will score at least 10-15 points and have some outbreak scoring nights

We need a sixth man who can score n play dvsirta like iman shumpert, but our pg situation is not ideal. Brining in a true pg makes everything come together. I bet you howard will benefit from this the most.

I think if we get Rondo we won't see as much iso as we always see unless Rondos on the bench and Hardens on the court.

Based on his history, what makes you think Morey would target a seasoned veteran pg who can't shoot?

    Rondo's 3p% is 24.0% last season.

And he is also a player who need ball in hand. If you wand to trade Lin, you have to get a PF not a PG, the Harden's HOU team don't need a PG.

Trade Lin. Also, would love to see Rondo and McHale yelling at each other.

The difference is experience and perceived need. LeBron and Wade wanted to be on the same team and made it happen through their actions. They changed and sacrificed their games because they felt they needed each other to win a championship, because they weren't able to do it on their own.

With Harden, atm no one knows if the Rockets have enough talent to eventually win the championship. You're going to bring in a ball dominant point guard and ask arguably your best franchise player to drastically change his game by taking the ball out of his hands? His play style has gotten a lot of people saying that he is the best sg in the game. Why would he want to change his play style now at this point in his career, when most likely he believes he is good enough to carry the team to an eventual championship.

To answer your question. Unlike LeBron and Wade, I don't think Harden believes he needs Rondo to win a championship.

Harden and Rondo just wouldn't compliment each other. Its not that they can't play together. Any player can play with any other player because its basketball.

What makes it nonsensical is the fact that it won't necessarily boost the chances of us winning because they contradict each other's play style.

What Harden needs is an explosive slasher for times when iso isn't going right and for specific plays and that same player being a proficient three point shooter for essentially the exact same reasons.

Rondo could honestly take command of the ball and let Harden be that slasher/shooter but it eliminates Hardens ability to Iso which results in his And 1s (Harden's bread and butter)

Rondo being the dominant ball handler though would reduce turn overs and provide excellent perimeter defense though

Pros and Cons to everything...its all about finding the best combination and matching it up to the opponents combination of players and their specific skill set. That's what makes basketball so fun though. Its just a complicated Chess game

so funny that people actually think that the rockets would be better with lin/beverly as our pg than rajon rondo. depressing, but funny.

It doesn't matter Ainge is not trading Rondo. He has not discussed wanting to trade Rondo with any teams at all.

People don't think that. I think lin is a better scorer but we would obviously trade asik to boston to or a three way deal that makes boston happy not a Lin rondo trade :/

Why do people think Asik and Howard can't play together?

I think this would be a perfect combo. I think Howard's overall game will improve without him having to guard the other team's best big all the time. Asik will take off some of the pressure he has on the defensive end, thus Howard can focus more on what he needs to improve the most, his offense.

Not only I think Howard's and the team offense will improve with Asik, but he will become a much more efficient defender playing with an actual rim protector. Plus, with Asik by his side, Howard won't have to take as much of a beating like he has had recently. If we continue to run Howard to the ground as much as we are now, his career won't last more than 10 years.

People say they can't play together because Asik can't shoot. Okay. Are Jones and Motiejunas really that much of a better shooter? I think not. And Asik has dramatically improved in that area these past few seasons.

Ok I see. As long as we're gonna discuss hypotheticals, why don't we also discuss if Lebron or if CP3 would fit with Harden too and how many chips in a row we could win...or maybe discuss the possibility of MJ coming back at 50 and whether he could help us too.

Sorry I stopped reading after the bolded part. Your assumption is based on Harden playing off the ball, which is (sadly) not possible.
