More accurately, Rondo would be the Big 1 that joins our mediocre 2.

And this is why it's so frustrating when people don't like Lin's game (not saying you don't like Lin's game). You guys haven't even seen him really play at his true strength which is distributing like a pg, as he was not given a chance to here. You think Lin prefers to play backup sg?? He can so clearly average 10 assists if the coaching star would let him play point. And now people think Lin isn't a good distributing pg..

Please no MELO. Just the thought is repulsive. Might as well try to put a package together for Old Kobe.

I don't think Rondo has the sort of gravitas that you think he does.

I might work out but it looks like McHale is not the type to coach to his players' strengths. i think he needs a "point" guard that just shoots threes just like he needs a "stretch" 4.

Also - it does look like Harden likes dominating the ball. Unless the "sticky ball" references McHale makes are just hot air - or just innuendo.

Rondo off the bench? lol Dude, come on. I think Lin is a good player, but neither him or Bev are on Rondos level. It's not even close.

Now that Beverley's outside shot has regressed to what looks like its mean (aka he sucks at 3's), there would be no reason whatsoever to play him over Rondo.

Beverley is a poor man's Rondo. He does everything Rondo does, just crappier. He shoots a bit better, but his defense is worse, his court vision is much worse, and he's probably even a little bit less of a bulldog than Rondo is. Both guys are great pieces to have on your team, however. 48 minutes of nut-punch protection! Chris Paul would be SOL.

I am sorry to say this, but this is ridiculous. The Rockets don`t care about Hardens box score - Lin averaged over 30 minutes, had a career high in points scored per game and probably also in shots attempted. And there is a big difference between Lin and Rondo, not only in quality but also in style of play. Lin plays pretty similar to Harden, just Harden does it better. Rondo plays a pure pass first game.

Harden wants to win. Of course he also wants to establish himself as a star and of course he still has some growing up to do. But adding Rondo wouldn`t take away any shots from him. And it wouldn`t turn Harden into a pure spot up shooter either. He will still drive to the basket aggressively. Adding Rondo would be a challenge (just like adding Howard was a challenge), but adding an all-star usually helps.

Oh and about McHale not modeling a system for the strength of his players - look at last season. That style of play fit our team like a glove, yet it was vastly different to what he did before.

It is true that Knicks has no asset, but what they can offer to Boston is taking over their longer team contracts so Boston can rebuild.

And with Lin's value, it has been plunged, thanks in how the coaching staff utilization on him. I honestly don't think any team will takes Lin unless Morey package him with some picks. Of course, waiving him is always an option.

Not to mention that the west would be pissed about having Rondo in the conference, much less to a contender like the Rockets. DM trolling the west lol.

Rondo is worth way more than just unloading bad contracts - and who would the Knicks send out to make the salaries match (just Rondo and Humphries would need the Knicks to send out at least 16 million I think - add Wallace and you need to go almost to 25...).

Lin`s value has plunged? Everybody thought we gave him a crazy contract, this season he has been playing great when healthy. I think if anything we have upped his value by a significant margin. He has proved that he can hit the 3, that he is an elite finisher at the basket and can play both ball dominant and off the ball. His value was never higher.

If we really want to win we need rondo. It will allow harden to play even more efficient. He'd prob even get more shots. Plus it is an added clutch ball handler. That's one thing only the heat and the spurs have is two players who our elite and can handle the ball and make the right decision. Rondo also helps our defense Alot because he will allow harden to focus more on defense because he wouldn't have to make every play on offense for the team. Overall it's a win because rondo with the athletes we have would be special.

Lin has improved but he is not worth 15 million. This is the price for the receiving team. You are out of your mind if you think you can trade Lin like he is a max player

Sure he can improve and probably become a elite pg under the correct coach and systems, but unfortunately it will not happen in the Rockets.

To trade Lin---not that he has no value as a player, but because he's still owed roughly $18,000,000 til the end of his contract---you'd have to add draft picks received from whatever Asik trade we do, and maybe add Tjones.

    Even then it'd be tough.

Trade proposals involving Lin going to no-money cheap-owner teams in cities with no significant Asian population (just being honest; that's where he would make money for his owner; picture him in oakland [Golden State]) like Milwaukee? Makes me laaaaaaugh, laugh laugh laugh.
