Anybody played this yet? It was released a few days earlier than the street date (04/29) and I am going to get it today on XBox. Played it yesterday at Gamestop in Sugarland, and damn, that is one hell of a addictive game. I played my cousin in which I was playing with the Rockets (Yao, Steve, Posey) and he played with the NBA Allstars (Steve, McGrady, Wallace). The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is like playing NBA Jam again for the first time. All I can say is Yao is a BLOCKING MACHINE. All of the trick moves are just plain S-I-C-K and this is one game every NBA fan has to play and for the record, the Rockets were still wearing there current PJs.
So it is out? or you think it was just released to that store early, i saw and ad for Best Buy today and said it was available there tuesday, know of any other stores that might have it released early?
I've seen EBs and Gamestops that had it out early. It is a great game. I really loved the first one, but when I heard how the second was - along with expected improvements - going to be 4-player, it became a must buy. And the first game with Yao!!!
Yup its out. I had it on reserve at EB Games and they called me that they got it in yesterday but getting it today cause I now have the money. I went to Gamestop yesterday by my cousin's house and they had it there too, so I guess everybody is releasing it early. Gamestop even had the full version of the game on every system at the store to play it on, so I guess this game has alot of hype right now.
Hmm... just called up a Gamestop near me and they do have it in stock. Sweet. The first edition was some of the most fun I had playing on my PS2.
An intereting out of topic side note, according to some people in Fatwallet.com forums, there are is supposed confirmation on a price drop of all 3 consoles coming by the time E3 is on. XBox and PS2 will be $150 and GC will be $100. Whats weird is that if thats true, a GC will be the same price as a GBA SP. Will be interesting to see.
on a related note: I love the 2k3 baseball. That is awesome. anybody played the Jurassic theme park game? Is it any good?
Operation Genesis or Park Builder for GBA? Both are excellent, but Park Builder is obsolete and not even worth playing anymore. If you get OG, opt for the PC version. It's cheaper, and you can mod around some of the limitations of stuff in the game. But I'm a JP nut, so that endorsement may be just a tad biased...
None of that is related. Stop it. ... and I can verify Gamestop is selling NBA Street 2 'cause I just got my copy.
Best Buy is slow on coming out with the new games. I remember last year trying to find NCAA Football 2003 on the day it was supposed to be out. Of course, if I were to buy it from them, I would of had to wait three extra days to buy it. So in going all over the Champions area, I bought the game across the street in Toys 'R Us for almost $60.
I know in the PC world nobody consistently has games out faster than Electronics Boutique or GameStop. They have stuff before the official release date. I still have no idea why people reserve these things - they usually get them after people that wait. I guess some of them get discounts.
Not all the time. Sometimes titles are more limited and the reserves get set aside first. Other times people just like to be sure their games are guaranteed. Take the SP for example; some game-specific stores had very limited quantities, so any that came in were already spoken for.
I rushed out and bought the game right after reading the board. It's probably one of the funnest games I've ever played in my life.
I'm having a blast with NBA Street! It's everything that is wrong with a lot of the players in the league. You get trick points for crazy dribbling, alley oops, dunks and threes. The lowest point value in the game? The mid range jumper. The emphasis on the game is basically to show up your opponent, not just get to 21 first. That said, it's a ton of fun, though sometimes I'd like to play without trying to get a 100,000+ point combo. It is sort of like combining Tony Hawk with NBA Jam. B
So I guess the shot clock reset is not that bad then, huh B? I'm still waiting for Circuit City to get the game in.
Well, the way around the shot clock reset is block using two turbo buttons. If you do that, you grab the ball out of the air instead of blocking it. Plus, I can artifically inflate my block total if the shot clock resets after a block. I had 9 blocks in one possession before I decided to do a grab block. Getting extra blocks helps you get your gamebreaker faster, and that's the key to getting high trick combo scores. B
What Gamestop did you guys go to? Every Gamestop I've called said w/o a reservation, I have to wait until tomorrow.
